I love perfumes. Sometimes I felt like I was born into this world just to smell anything pleasant using my olfactory senses. I’m so attached to scents. Spray something nice on your shirt and I will be instantly attracted to you.If you smell like candy, cherry or grapefruit, I would make the first approach to talk and befriend you. If you smell of something spicy and musky with that little hint of citrus notes, I would totally fall in love with you. If you smell of sweat, sour and rubbish, please stay ten metres away from me unless you’re a poor or needy. This is how much scents could influence my social life.
I’m attracted to scents at a very young age. I’ve always wanted to start a perfume collection but eau de parfums are really expensive. It’s merely a small little glass bottle with liquid mixed with alcohol and yet it can cost a bomb. Some may not realise how much work and effort goes into making perfumes. The ingredients goes into making the fragrance of 3 different notes like amber are rare and costly. A year ago, I was still a student trying hard to get good grades and get a good job. Now that I’m working, I am starting to come back to the idea of starting my very own perfume collection. I actually had several bottles of pefumes in my drawer but they were either samples, free or given by my aunt. Just a few days ago, I decided to just splurge on a bottle of perfume to reward myself for Christmas.
DKNY Be delicious: Fresh Blossom
(Bought from Sasa, Singapore at a sale for SGD$81.00)
Top Notes: Grapefruit, Cassis, Apricot,
Middle Notes:Muguet, Rose, Jasmine, Apple,
Base Notes:Blond Woods, Smooth Skin Accord.
I read several reviews about this perfume before and knew it was pretty popular among young female adults. I’m in love with floral scents and since this bottle looks pretty and simple, plus it’s on a sale, I decided to grab it off the shelf and place it on the counter for payment. But after purchasing it, I was a little dissapointed because the scent didn’t last really long even though it’s a eau de parfum. I suspect this perfume could be lying on the shelf for too long and the scent gradually became more subtle. This scent only last about an hour on my skin.
When I was first spray it on my wrist, I thought that the top notes were a little overpowering and was way too spicy and sharp for my nose. I was hoping for the scent to be less subtle with the middle and base notes coming out stronger as the top notes gets evaporated. But the heart of the scent didn’t really show up.
The bottle does have a nice spring feel to it but the scent didn’t really go well for me.
