“A Tasty Passage to India” Dinner Buffet @ Town Restaurant, The Fullerton Hotel

Howdie folks! I’m honoured to be invited by Juliana from URA for a media tasting dinner buffet at Town Restaurant, The Fullerton Hotel. From 20 to 31 July 2012, Town restaurant is offering “A Tasty Passage to India” dinner buffet which is prepared by chefs from Taj Palace New Delhi!
I’m with 3 ladies in their beautiful Saris! I have to get one of these Saris if I’m planning to travel to India at the end of this year!
The Indian cuisine was known to be diverse and extraodinary as it reflect as complex layering of flavours developed through more than 5000 years of history!
While you’re there, don’t miss the opportunity to feast on classic Indian dishes like
Murg Badam Shorba
(Almond-flavoured Chicken Broth),
Kasundi Mahi Tikka
(Bengal Mustard Fish Kebab),
Kolapuri Mutton
(Spicy Mutton Curry),
Phoolkopichi Bhaji
(Cauliflower Curry served with crushed peanuts),
Paneer Makai Seekh
(Minced Cottage Cheese and Corn Kernel’s Chargrilled on Skewer),
Chingri Malai Curry
(Prawns cooked in Coconut),
and Subz Briyani.
(Vegetable spiced rice)
The two head chefs in the kitchen also shared that they will be serving Northern/Southern  and Eastern/Western Indian cuisines on alternate days.
A Selection of pastas, cheese, pizzas and bread.
A selection of Japanese food : Sashimi
Sushi
Chef’s toasting the naan in this hot pot at the water terrace, right along the historic Singapore River!
There are tables at the water terrace too where one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the river.
Garlic Naan
Raspberry Tarts
Mini Lemon Meringue

A heaven for the sweet-tooths
Some Indian desserts
For the sweet tooth, remember to try the various traditional Indian desserts such as
Anjeer Kulfi
( Royal Indian Ice-Cream),
Rawa Kesari
( Sweet Semolina Pudding),
Rasmali
( Soft Paneer Balls immersed in chilled creamy milk delicately flavoured with cardamom),
and Apple Jalebi
( Fried Apple Fritters with Golden Syrup).
Naan is my favourite Indian dish. It goes well with the different curries and sauces.
So heavenly! But beware of the sugar and calories!
I had French Earl Grey Tea to cleanse my palate after desserts.
Beverage Selection: Wine! Red…wine…
Impressed by the different designs of name cards by a photographer who seated at the same table as the rest of the other bloggers.
As we are about to leave the restaurant, we saw a delectable spread of heavenly chocolates displayed generously right at the lobby area. There’s actually a chocolate buffet right outside the Town Restaurant! This must be a hotel of buffets!
Yummy! It’s only S$25++ per person and available only on friday and Saturday evenings.
I would love to try it someday!
Maybe one day…
A nice place to chill and unwind over chocolates and tea.

You don’t have to travel all the way to India to experience the true, exotic flavours of the Indian cuisine. Head down to Town restaurant and relish the authentic Indian fare prepared up by the team of Indian chefs from the Taj Palace New Delhi!
