Singapore Blog Awards 2012: Exploring Oasia Hotel + Zaffron Restaurant

We’ve come to our very last and final hotel tour at Oasia Hotel where we also settle down to have our lunch before heading to the Singapore Flyer where the Singapore Blog Awards 2012 was held.

I’ve been lulling my new Canon DSLR over my neck the whole day and it’s been rather inconvenient carrying it almost the whole day but I know it’s worth bringing this gadget along. Oasia is also another stunning hotel located in the charming Novena enclave. It is situated near popular lifestle shopping malls like Noven Square Velocity and Square 2, as well as Novena MRT station.

The wooden and sleek furniture gives the whole hotel a Zen and resort-like feel. The colour palette is soothing to the eyes and it calms the mind and soul, making you feel as if you are close to nature.

Check this out! There’s even a Nespresso coffee maker in the room! There’s also a iPod docking entertainment system where you can blast your favourite music all day long! Now, you could listen to soothing tunes over a cuppa, in the comfort and privacy of your own room.

I can’t help but to take mirror-reflecting self-shots in the bathroom where there’s a big bathroom mirror. It’s almost habitual, like a reflex for me to raise my camera up and snap away.

Do your body some good by going for a light swim in Oasia’s infinity pool on the eighth floor. The oasis on the eighth floor comprises of roof terrace retreat that has 360 degree views of the city landscapes amidst the bamboo gardens and zen-like pools. It’s a really cool swimming pool with deck chairs placed right in the water! How cool is that!

If only I could live here…

Next we head up to the 22nd floor to view the executive floor where club floor guests can enjoy an exclusive retreat in the The Living Room. A lavish buffet spread for breakfast is served daily while coffee and tea are also available all day for the club floor guests. There’s also a private pool catered for the special guests. That’s pretty exclusive for the VIPs of this hotel, isn’t it? You will be treated like the rich and famous if you’re staying in the bigger rooms.

The Living Room is accessible 24 hours a day with private key card. It offers breakfast, complimentary cocktails and canapes daily from 6pm to 8pm. All Club Floor guests can also enjoy the private 20-matre lap pool and Jacuzzi, or wind down by the sundeck area.

Oasia’s signature cocktail tea which includes the Singapore Sling tea as well! Very refreshing on a hot and sunny day.

Each cuppa is served with a piece of dark chocolate from France.

All of us were so elated when the hotel manager hands each of us a welcome gift pack! It was a nice guesture!

After the long hotel tour, we had our lunch at one of the hotel’s dining restaurants, Zaffron. This restaurant provides a sumptuous dining experience tantalising buffet spreads, as well as a delectable a la carte menu. Located at the lobby level of Oasia Hotel, this restaurant accomodates 106 guests comfortably in a chic classy setting.

At any buffet spread, the first thing that would grab my attention and draw me closer to it will be the cheese platter and desserts! These are my favourite buffet items!
