At the Stroke of Midnight, The Magic Begins: A Guide to Marina Bay Countdown Singapore 2013

Prepping up for tomorrow’s biggest countdown of the year?

Here’s what you should know.

Fireworks Vantage Points
Photography enthusiasts, be on the stand by at these hot spots!

In my opinion, the best spot is at esplanade where you could also get a closer view of the wishing spheres which would be lighted up in the evening. There’s going to be a water fireworks display too.

Finally, the big day is tomorrow and I know many are gearing up the countdown happening tomorrow at Marina Bay. It’s free even for all except the concert which is happening at The Float @ Marina Bay where tickets are sold for SGD25 each. Other than the Mediacorp’s live concert at The Float, they are also going to several live concerts held at several spots in Marina Bay.

I recommend taking public transport such as trains or buses to the countdown event because there’s going to be temporary road closures and it’s definitely difficult to drive in or park your cars in this area.
The latest SMRT train services will be available til 3.20am, Tuesday, 1 Jan 2013! Not to worry about getting home after midnight via public transport but I reckon that the MRT stations will be pack with people trying to catch the last trains home after the fireworks.
But if 12am is way past your bedtime and you’re feeling all groggy and sleepy, you could always hail for a cab. I’m sure all the taxi drivers will be on stand by, waiting for customers to flag down a cab.
I do not know how crazy things are going to get but I do hope I could catch a train back home so get some sleep before catching my morning flight to Bali.
