Alice’s Fashion in Wonderland: Spruce Your Wardrobe with New Clothes for Chinese New Year

Alice’s Fashion in Wonderland: Spruce Your Wardrobe with New Clothes for Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year, marks the beginning of spring. Bid farewell to those cold bitter days and get ready to usher the first day of the Lunar New Year with flowers blooming and green young leaves dancing in the breeze.

For the Singaporean Chinese ( or other Chinese in general), we start the year with everything new, from head to toe – clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. Some may even want to purchase new furnitures and household items for their current homes. Life starts afresh for us, just like how each bud opens and blooms into a young flower.

So a couple of weeks before the first day of Chinese New Year, there’s this frenzy buying of new clothes and new shoes as it is a traditional Chinese custom for us to wear new clothes during Chinese New Year. Well, instead of browsing racks after racks of clothes in stores with the crowd, why not shop online? I’ve been recently introduced to this online blogshop called Alice which offers really feminine clothings which are simple, yet intricate in design. I’ve noticed that they’ve got a collection of red dresses which are perfect for this coming festive season! Red is, afterall, an auspicious colour and who knows, it might bring you luck!

Below are some of the pieces I’ve chosen from Alice‘s collection which very much screams springtime for me! Ladies, we’ve come to the time of the year where we need to spruce up our wardrobe with some classic and feminine spring time dresses, tops and skirts. What’s even better is that Alice is having a promotion right now, with up to 40% off selected items!

Alice‘s current collections

Alice’s Fashion in wonderland

 One: The Rabbit

The Skater Dress, inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s famous two toned color dress, in lavender and brown.

The two tone color dress helps create this illusion of a slimmer figure as our eyes tends to focus on the  more prominent purple-coloured mid-piece. This dress really spells springtime for me.

Two: Tea Party

French Lace skirt by Alice versatile for the work day and night out, in beige and grey.

The use of lace, with intricate floral designs, gives this piece a sexy yet feminine touch which lures out the feminity in every woman. Perfect for wearing it out on a date, especially on Valentine’s Day.

Hit the town in red with this open back lace dress during Chinese New Year. It’s about tying in traditions into today’s fashion. Don’t turn away from this auspicious colour which symbolises luck.

Three: Absolutely Alice

Curiously shiny satin dress perfect for the year end parties, dinners, and festivities! Satin, with inner lining.

This dress is perfect for dinners, wedding events, proms or evenings party where you just want to look polished, formal yet simple and not too over the top. The material is light-weight and comfortable on the skin which allows you to dance away freely during prom in your dancing shoes.

Four: The Mad Hatter

I love toga and maxi dresses. This dress happens to encompass the two types of dresses I fancy. Toga dresses are one of the most versatile dresses that looks good on every woman. I swear by this because I don’t think the Greeks invented the toga dress to make every Greek look terrible, right?
