Liquid foundation are almost on the verge of being obsolete with the rise of comprehensive BB creams that offers UV protection. Finally, we have all come to a common consensus that UV rays is our greatest enemy in preventing us from having perfect skin. That explains why almost every other skincare or cosmetic products are encoded with UV protectants to ward off the harmful sun rays.
La Roche-Posay, for instance, has came out with their new melt-in BB cream and Aqua fresh gel that offers UVA photo protection. Yes, UVA rays is the culprit behind hyper pigmentation and photo aging. Let us scrutinize the labels and uncover their potentials.
La Roche-Posay UVIDEA XL BB Cream – $49.90 / 30ml
This melt-in BB Cream works a little differently from other usual BB creams. It doesn’t serve the function of correcting imperfections with the same colour as your skin tone. Instead, it normalize your skin tone and making it look more even. So, it doesn’t really have that ‘concealer’ function to make your skin flawless. It’s not heavily pigmented but rather, it’s light in texture. It acts more like a basic foundation base that offers a good UV protection.
This BB Cream is unique in the sense that it’s quite watery as it contains substances that intensely hydrates skin while covering blemishes, fine lines and brown spots. With that, it’s pretty safe to skip the moisturizing step if you’re using this hydrating BB cream. It’s fragrance free, paraben free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.
La Roche-Posay UVIDEA Aqua Fresh Gel – $38.90/30ml
This product suits my skin type better as it has a fresh water-break concentrated gel texture that probably wouldn’t cause my skin to have breakouts. It might also combat my dehydrated skin that calls out for moisture. And what really stands outs for this product is its comprehensive long UVA protection. It allows for 18 times longer protection against damaging UVA rays as compared to products without photo protection!
I could really use the UV Aqua Fresh Gel in place of a daily sunscreen and day moisturizer. And it’s always a good idea to stock up on good quality sunscreens that doesn’t clogged pores because it’s one of those beauty products that would run out really fast. Do you know that you should apply sunscreen once every four to five hours for optimal sun protection? I’ve kept a bottle of sunscreen in my handbag so that I could reapply the sunscreen lotion after every five hours. You can skip touching-up your makeup but never forget to touch up your sunscreen base!
Sunscreen’s the new vitamin for the skin.
