Besides cleansing, toning and moisturizing, slapping on a weekly facial masks is also part of my skincare routine to not only pamper the skin but to also further hydrate the skin intensely to make up for any lost in moisture. Hydration is the key to good skin. However, if you’re suffering from blemishes then you should be using a specific types of mask that targets at oil and sebum control.
You’d be surprise that our skin type changes from time to time. My current skin condition is now dry and dehydrated as I’ve just completed a chemical peel treatment not long ago. So, I needed to use a mask that provides me with intense hydration. However, these days, the weather is getting really humid and my T-zone starts to get slightly oily. In that case, I would prefer to use a clarifying mask like clay or mud mask to absorb the impurities and excess sebum. Thus, you should be varying the type of mask you use depending your current skin condition and not just stick to one particular type of mask, thinking that it will promise you with a great-looking skin.
So, it’s great that b.liv by Cellnique Cosmaceutical offers a range of mask that are tagged with a funky headliner that probably reflects the ‘thoughts’ of your skin cells. For instance, when my skin cells are screaming, “immerse me in water right now!”, I would go straight upon ripping off b.liv’s Immerse me mask packaging. My skin felt incredibly hydrated after soaking in 100% hyaluronic acid, Cationic Hyaluronic Acid and Cogongrass Extract for 15 minutes. I’m into such masks that are simple yet effective.
Another hydration mask I’ve tried is b.liv’s ultimate Aqua Surge intensive treatment mask. Besides supplying moisture to the skin, it also produces a brightening and age preventing effect. As compared to Immerse Me, I find that this silk mask provides a high intensity of hydration with it’s 3 main ingredients of acerola fruit extract (encourages skin renewal), acetyl hexapeptide-B (a botox alternative) and sodium PCA (provide long term skin hydration). This mask would be great be great on occasions where you need to revive your dry, dull and deteriorating skin instantly.
With the high humidity and unbearable heat, I’m pretty sure that this would be a period of time where most of our Sebaceous glands, that were embedded beneath the skin surface, get really active. That is why I’ve been relying on Absolute Matte, a newly launched mask which has been just added to b.liv’s series of masks. It’s a oil control, clarifying and hydrating mask that functions by lifting away impurities and excess sebum, leaving the skin clear and balances.
What is unique about this mask is the use of active charcoal mask sheet that acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers to reveal an oil-shine free skin. It’s also a fun mask to put on because it’s all in black! And even though it’s targeted at oily skin type, it also provides hydration that the skin needs. Thus, even though the mask is suppose to make your skin look absolute matte, it isn’t going to dry out your skin. In fact, my skin looked quite glowy after leaving the mask on for about 20 minutes.
I ‘b.liv’ in the power of mask, do you?
