Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Drink : The Abs Drink

Having heard so much about the benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar, I decided to put it to the test and drink a glass of apple cider vinegar mixed with water every morning for two weeks.

One of the noticeable effects was how easily my stomach begins to ‘de-bloat’ itself after eating. The apple cider vinegar drink has somewhat made my stomach look flatter and when your stomach is flat, abs will show. I do have abs but unfortunately, it is still covered by a layer of fat. If not for the layer of blubber, I’m pretty sure I could see the nicely carved-out abs.

It does make a lot of sense to label apple cider as an abs drink because it aids in common indigestion problems. I read that most of the stomach indigestion problems are caused by the lack of stomach acid in the stomach itself. When there’s a deficit in stomach acid, the body will react in such a way to churn the food harder in the stomach and this causes a condition called acid reflux where there’s a back flow of acid along the digestive system. Thus, drinking apple cider vinegar which is high in acidity can help prevent acid reflux and also aids in digestion,preventing ‘bloated-ness’ in the abdomen area.

After two weeks, I couldn’t seem to keep up with the routine of drinking apple cider vinegar as I somehow forgotten to drink it every morning once I had a break from it for a day or two. Then, I started noticing how my belly starts to bloat so easily again.

I’m not bragging about this. Really, this is the ultimate drink for flat abs. It’s affordable, easily available and versatile. Because it doesn’t only make your tummy look flatter but also make your skin acne-free and hair to shine.

But with so many brands of apple cider vinegar available in the market, which is one that is the best? It is often recommended that we get raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar like the ones by Bragg as it contains the ‘mother’ of vinegar, a natural cloudy substance found only in raw, unfiltered organic vinegar. It often appear as brown sediments which sinks to the bottom of the vinegar bottle when left standing alone. I bought this big bottle of vinegar at NTUC Xtra JEM for $10.70.

It consists of naturally occurring enzyme molecules that are highly regarded for it’s nutritional and health benefits. It’s the essence of apple cider vinegar that what makes apple cider vinegar so beneficial for the body. With this ‘mother’, it doesn’t provide much nutrition and nourishing benefits to your body.

One of the best brands of apple cider vinegar I could find in our local supermarkets is the one by Bragg. Made from organically grown apples, this vinegar is safe to consume and kosher certified. Since it is raw and unfiltered, it contains a high amount of polyphenol antioxidants and is also considered as a ‘live’ food that is rich in naturally-made enzymes.

I would usually add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to one cup of water and drink it early in the morning, right after I got out of bed. But if you can’t stand the sourish taste, you could add some honey or natural sweetener. Occasionally, I would drizzle this over salads as a salad dressing too.

It’s a must-have ingredient in the kitchen especially if you are all out for eating clean.
