Wings of Time @ Sentosa

Wings of Time is Sentosa’s latest signature night extravaganza near Beach station. This is actually a new state-of-the-art laser light show in place of the previous night show by the sea, ‘Songs of the Sea‘. I caught the last ‘Songs of the Sea’ on 4th of May 2014 in celebration of my birthday. Within a month’s time, the stage set-up for ‘Wings of Time’ has already been prepared and once again, people visiting sentosa could come view this night extravaganza show, an awe-inspiring display of water, laser and fire effects.

I love the creative use of the stage set-up against the backdrop of a beach and the alluring evening sky.

I was enjoying the beautiful sunset scene while waiting for the show to begin.

Throngs of tourists streaming in to view the show. Our sunny islands has been attracting a lot of tourists lately. Look at how crowded Sentosa is! It use to be pretty empty and secluded back when I was a kid.

In short, Wings of Time is a story about two teenagers, Rachel and Felix, who help a bird-like creature, Shahbaz, find its way home. The storyline is kept pretty short and simple. The main highlight for me during this show is the experiential fusion of multimedia effects along with the sudden burst of fireworks that made me anticipate of more such stunning effects. But the show didn’t last too long and it ended quite abruptly. I actually enjoyed watching ‘Songs of the Sea’ more than ‘Wings of Time’.

But I must say that watching this show against the night sky is rather beautiful and there probably isn’t anything quite like this in the world elsewhere.

The main character of Wings of Time, Shahbaz, awoken after remaining dormant from a long sleep.

And the breath-taking adventure begins – from the Industrial Revolution and the Silk Road eras, to the African Savanna and underwater world.

By then, the sky has turned and it’s pretty spectacular to be viewing such a scene against the night sky speckled with tiny stars with cool night breeze caressing your face. If only the show was a little longer…

If you have not catch this musical fountain show at Sentosa, I highly recommend that you catch this show at least once because it is a work of art and creativity which we Singaporeans would be proud of.
