Handmade Heroes : Handmade Vegan Beauty Products – Too Yummy For the Skin

I’m glad that I’ve made the gradual change in my lifestyle to a more simplistic and eco-friendly lifestyle who I try to stick to the use of natural, cruelty-free and environmentally-friendly. I started by clearing out my beauty cabinet where I gave away some of my unused products to my mom or friends and finish up the remaining skincare products to make space for more natural vegan products which contains zero or few artificial chemicals. I’m not so concern about whether the harsh chemicals present in skincare products are going to irritate my skin, rather I am more concern about the release of such harmful chemicals to the earth. In fact, after learning so much more about health and nutrition, I’m now a firm believer of using nature to beautify and to heal oneself. Whole foods can both heal and nourish our body. Why spent so much $ on expensive branded skincare products when all you need is a dollar to buy some fresh aloe vera leaf and rub its juice on your skin to hydrate it?

But, of course, it can be rather messy. If you prefer using products from the traditional beauty jars, I recommend that you could go for beauty brands that uses 100% natural ingredients with little or no use of artificial ingredients.

I’m proud to be introducing you guys a natural and vegan beauty brand from Singapore which creates awesome body scrubs and lip tints. The peeps from Handmade Heroes and as ‘heroes’ of the earth, so to speak, they made really good quality products that are suitable for all skin types. They’ve got one of the purest product in the market to date.

I’ve chose some products from their current range which are of greater interest to me. Products like the Butt Kickin’ Deep Detoxing Coffee scrub is exactly what I need right now… to fight my cellulite problem.

When I first received the set of products from Handmade Heroes, I thought everything looks rather small and compact. It’s great to carry it all around as it doesn’t takes up space but I was just concern as to how long the product will last me before I finished it. Perhaps a week? I was proven wrong when I started using it because the product itself is rather dense and concentrated. I reckon that it will take me a month to finish it if I use it everyday.

To date, I learnt never to underestimate the size of a product.

Let me tell you what’s in it and you will be surprise. It only contains just 5 ingredients: Organic Rice, Sweet Almond Oil, Cocoa Butter, Organic Coffee and Cinnamon Oil. All you need is just 5 ingredients to make this best body scrub ever to fight cellulite. The organic rice makes the scrub beads that gently exfoliates the skin. I like its rough texture which really scrapes off the dead skin cells on the body. The cocoa butter together with the oils softens the skin which make my skin feeling so smooth after the body scrub. The product really speaks for itself, “stimulate circulation…it tightens skin and improves elasticity”. I would slather this on my body and scrub down hard before I enter the steam room and boy, it really made my skin around my thighs felt firmer.

What’s best is that it smells so pleasant and delicious. Did I forget to mention that you could eat all of their products since there is no harmful chemicals in it? If it is edible, it should be safe to put it on your skin as well.

This lip scrub is absolutely ingenious for it also contains a few natural ingredients to give you that sexy lips. What’s in it? Sugar, Virgin Coconut Oil, Dehydrated Coconut and Sweet Almond Oil. The sugar scrub gently exfoliates the lips to reveal a pink luscious healthy lips.
WARNING: You might end up eating this as you scrub it across your lips.

I would use this on a weekly basis or if I’m going out on a date because you will never know…

This lil’ tub here can last for quite some time. Like the Coffee body scrub, the contents are pretty dense.

I’ve read that it isn’t always good to shampoo your hair too often as it strips off the natural hair oils which your hair, causing your hair to dry out quickly. It isn’t too good for the scalp too – with the constant use of chemicals resting on the scalp can clog pores overtime. So it is recommended that we take a break from hair washing.
But if you can’t resist your hair being oily without a good wash, I suggest you can try using dry shampoo. This dry shampoo from Handmade Heroes helps to absorb the hair oils and neutralize odours with its deodorizing bamboo charcoal and refreshing peppermint scent.
I would dust the powder over my scalp and give myself a head massage. The eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil also helps to stimulate blood circulation in the hair scalp too.

This lip tint glides smoothly across the lips, adding a nice red tint on the lips. It looks natural on the lips as it just gives the lips a slight healthy sheen and glow. I would use this in place of lips sticks as this lip tints makes my lip more breathable and it doubles up as a lip balm too. Perfect.
