Faith in Face: Hydrogel Mask from Korea

A mask is a must.
A facial mask gives you intense moisturization and nourishment to your skin within a specific period of time. With our hot and humid climate (and occasional haze), it is crucial to use a facial mask once every week.
My favourite type of mask has been the hydrogel mask because it is adhere to the skin better and it feel cooling and refreshing when put on. However, they aren’t many brands of the hydrogel mask out there in Singapore. But now, there’s Faith in Face and I AM SOOO INTO THIS MASK NOW!
Faith in Face is a hydrogel mask brand from Korea. It was first launched in 2012 by a multi-national team of
young cosmetic experts from Korea, Britain and Canada. Right, it’s been in the market for almost 3 years already and I wish I was introduced to this brand of mask way earlier!
In addition, Faith in Face uses only organic and naturally derived extracts, such as vegetable collagen, essential
oils, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. It is also free of parabens and mineral oils. The masks are specially
formulated to be gentle on the skin. Faith in Face does not perform animal testing on their
products as well.
There are 5 variants of the mask:
– After shower look
– Hold me tight
– Black and White Film Star
– Nourish Me
– Miss Invisible Pore
I tried out 3 variants of the mask: After Shower Look, Black and White Film and Nourish Me. Read on to find out more.

Regular microfiber and cotton sheet masks are somehow not as hydrating as hydrogel mask. And I felt that the essence from the hydrogel mask gets absorbed into the skin faster too. In fact, Faith in Face’s hydrogel masks contain a high percentage of water soluble ingredients to deliver maximal hydration and promote superior skin rejuvenation. Its gentle formula is suitable for sensitive skin.
Hydrogel masks are like ‘stress relief’ mask because they have the ablity to cool the skin, thanks to beta-glucans which rejuvenate stressed-out skin.

Black and White Film Star is a brightening mask that contains Arbutin and Niacinamide, a water soluble vitamin that has anti-ageing and skin brightening effects. It also contains Citrus Unshiu Pericarp extract (for its excellent anti-oxidant effects) and Green Tea extract which contains Vitamin C, Tocopherols and Polypenols to brighten the skin.

Verdict: I left the mask for about 30 minutes and the skin appeared slightly more radiant than before. But I felt that its hydration benefits is definitely more prominent than anything else. Oh, when you are using the mask, make sure you remove the thin protective film then apply the smooth side of the mask to your face.
Nourish Me is an unique mask with vegetable extracts in it! I call this the veggie mask. It is specially formulated with ceramide 3, Broccoli Extract and Olive Oil to provide the ultimate nourishment for the skin. The function of Ceramide 3 is to generate a protective layer for our skin and it is one of the most important component of the lipid composition found in the stratum corneum of the skin. The star ingredient, Broccoli Extract contains Vitamins C, E and beta carotene which promotes maintenance of healthy skin and prevents UV damage. Broccoli happens to be one of my favourite vegetables too!

Verdict: Nourish me is my favourite out of the three or perhaps I am just bias because l love broccoli! It works more like a hydrating and nourishing mask. Skin felt much softer and even in skin tone after application.

After Shower Look is a soothing and moisturizing mask that contains the natural moisturizing
ingredient, Sodium PCA that supplies moisture to your skin. It also
contains Hyaluronic Acid which provides intense hydration with its moisture
retention capabilities. Camelia Oil is also present to lock the moisture
into the skin and to soothe the skin.

Verdict: This mask gives me that slight glowy look which is probably due to the presence of camelia oil. But the dewy look only lasted for about an hour or so. This is a great mask to use before a date or an important event.

I have yet to try out the other 2 variants which is Hold Me Tight (a lifting and firming mask) and Miss Invisible Pore (a pore tightening mask for problematic skin). I would definitely love to try them out one day. Do let me know if you have tried it!
