It isn’t christmas without great food and company. If dining at home sounds like a chore (or bore), you could always head out to dine. And a better way to celebrate this festive season with your family and friends is to head out to town for one of the best buffets in Singapore. Congratulations to 10@Claymore, Pan Pacific Orchard for clinching the ‘Best Buffet Award’ at the Epicurean Star Awards!
It’s great to be back for the second time at 10@Claymore for a Christmas Festive Dinner Buffet. One special feature of their buffet is their signature Plates of Pleasure, an à la minute petite sized menu of signature creations like chargrilled 1855 Premium Black Angus Beef, Chardonnay Poached Cod and Pan Seared Gourmet Foie Gras with Plum Confit. These are dishes you would order at fine restaurants and they comes in limited portions. But here, the plates of pleasure is part of the extended buffet line and you can order as many as you want!
The sky falls into darkness and the whole space glows in warm yellow. My stomach is calling for some good food!
Whenever you enter a buffet place, survey what they got to offer and plan what goes into your tummy because you want to reserve the space for the very best and right now, I am going to reveal to you what’s Pan Pacific’s very best.
Oysters, oysters and more oysters! Calling all seafood lovers – there’s chilli crab, oyster, tonnes of prawns and sashimi.
You can taste of the finest chilli crab here! It is really worth coming for the buffet here when they are serving expensive food items like chilli crab, oysters, sashim and foie gras!
Salad station for the green eaters! It’s my favourite station too. They’ve got so many toppings and a good selection of dressings too.
The dessert table is another highlight. I felt that this time time round their selection of desserts is way better than their brunch buffet desserts I had previously.
Not to mention, they’ve got a fountain of chocolate with tall jars of meringues and cookies. Welcome to candy land!
I quite like their savoury tomato soup actually.
I brought my mum along on the wagon and she’s pretty stoked about the buffet spread. She had a taste of the chef’s recommended dishes like the olive rice.
Here’s the list of must try buffet food:
1) Pan Seared Gourmet Foie Gras
The foie gras is well seared to that this nice roasted aroma and it sits nicely on a fluffy toast. Perfect texture and balance in taste. You can skip the buffet line and simply order all the plates of pleasure which would still make your money worth!
Don’t miss out on this Chardonnay Poached Cod that literally melts into your mouth.
The plates of pleasure menu also featured a couple of local delights like char kuay teow and prawn noodle soup. It is all prepared by the chef on the spot, serve fresh and pipping hot.
Check out their award-winning Char Kway Teow! More prawns, clams and crab meat…
After trying out all the good stuff, I was already full and I was ready to go for the desserts.
As for the desserts, you should go for durian crepes!
Tadaah! I decorated my crepes with fruits and toppings available at the buffet table. You could have some fun styling your food to post up on instagram.
Last dish? CHILLI CRAB
Here’s our signature local dish here in Singapore and it would be great if you have friends from overseas who is coming over to Singapore to spend their Christmas here. This dish would probably be one of their most unforgettable dishes they have. In my opinion, this is way better than Christmas Turkey.
Entering food coma by the time we are all done. But we went home with our tummies filled with delight.
