Masego : The Safari Spa – A Journey Into the Tropical Rainforest

Masego : The Safari Spa – A Journey Into the Tropical Rainforest

I didn’t quite know how a jungle-themed spa salon would look like until I set foot into Masego which is located at level 3 of SAFRA Jurong, a stone throw away from Boon Lay MRT and Jurong Point.
It is such an interesting concept because a good retreat and rest, to me, would actually be taking a step back to nature where I can experience peace and serenity. I thought I would be surrounded by lushes green plants and perhaps some statues of animals but thankfully, that’s not the case. In fact, the place is very spacious with comfortable lounge areas and 14 canopied tents where you get your therapeutic treatments done. I went there for a massage in the late evening and it really felt like I was about to go on a camping treat in the dark.
The scent and ambience already bring me into this comforting zone where I started to calm my senses down.

The spa opens from 11 am to 1am in the hours of the morning. So you can enjoy a late night treatment at the spa just before you start to unwind in bed.

The services include various type of Balinese-inspired massage and face treatments that have interesting names to it as well. I would love to try their Red Ginseng Gua Sha Facial if I were to go back there again.

I tried the Thai massage which doesn’t require the use of massage oil. It’s a little like a deep tissue massage and the therapist was experienced so she knew how to knead our those tight knots. Though I would probably try their Mandi Lulur, a Javanese-inspired spa treatment or Swedish massage.

If you are planning for a spa treatment for yourself and your loved ones, here’s a promotion I would like to share with you guys. For the month of February, get the Masego experience with an Exclusive treat of 1-hour Signature Body Massage and 1 hour Foot Massage for $88 per person. If you book as a couple, you get to enjoy a complimentary room upgrade to the Couple’s Room!
Overall, the spa rooms were very clean and spacious. They also have separate changing rooms equipped with lockers, shower amenities, and even a steam room too. And I like the fact that the treatments are done in the privacy of the canopied tents which is an interesting concept.
