If you bought the full-access health club membership at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, you get to enjoy a complimentary 60-min bespoke massage at Chi Spa. Talking about luxurious spas, I never experience something quite like this before. I had a really wonderful massage done by this masseuse who served right from her heart. Her name is Nicole and she is so polite and helpful. She would address me by my surname and constantly check on me to see if I was comfortable or whether the massage was done in the way I wanted it to be. Even right after the massage, she would share with me on tips on how I could solve my stomach bloatedness problem and made me felt really comfortable. She gave me that royalty treatment that I will never forget!
Shangri-La Hotel is some distance from the Orchard Road Shopping Belt but you can still take a 15 to 20 minutes walk from Orchard MRT or take the shuttle bus from Orchard MRT to Shangri-La Hotel. Once you reach there, you will be glad that you actually had made the trip here as you enter their grand lobby. You will be surrounded by a lot of lush greenery that puts you at ease, as you loosen up yourself and prepare yourself for a retreat.
CHI, The Spa offers massage therapies, facial treatments, and body treatments.
Their female changing room has lockers, bath facilities and steam rooms.
Their treatment rooms are beautiful! It housed a shower room in it too. What’s best is the bed. I think it’s as comfy as the hotel bed. I almost fall into a deep sleep during the massage.
Before the massage, the therapist would first wash the feet with some bath salts.
During the massage, the therapists adjusted the bed to a suitable level and asked if I was comfortable. She was way too polite and courteous.
Before the massage, she also asked me which areas of the body I would like to focus on so that she can pay more attention to those areas. She mentioned that the massage will be done in a Swedish-style which is more relaxing as compared to deep tissue massage.
After an hour of massage, I was ushered to this lounge area where I can lie down for a while to drink some tea and have some fruits or cookies to munch on. The therapist, Nicole, brought me comfortable blankets and asked me if I needed anything else.
That’s when I had a chat with her too, where she shared with me on how I can solve my water retention problems. She even helped me to prepare the steam bath just in case I might want to use it too. She also asked if I wanted to take photos and she helped me took a picture (as shown below)!
Her service is impeccable so I wrote her a good feedback!
I did a 10-minute steam bath before taking a good shower and then headed home. What a lovely night spent! It’s nice to spend some quiet time alone in such a manner.
If I can only come back to CHI, The Spa again…
