I don’t think I’ve ever watched an episode on My Little Pony but after taking part in this run, I odd to watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series to wonder that child-like wonder in me. According to my bestie Xue Ying (who took part in this race with me), she said it’s a pretty wise cartoon show for kids to watch because each character has some substance to it. I would definitely get my future baby girl to watch it!
The race was held at Sentosa and it’s a nice venue to be held at because there’s less traffic here and the air is fresher. It was organized by Pink Apple which also organized last year’s DC Justice League Run. I’ve attended a couple of runs by this organizer and they did a pretty good job in planning out the routes. However, they would need to work more on their goodie bag to make it more attractive.
Because there are several runs scheduled at different timings in the morning, the starting point wasn’t too pack and running was easy as you don’t have to jostle through the crowds as you run. The lanes were pretty clear and it was more enjoyable running on a less crowded lane but Xue Ying and I decided to walk because we were both somewhat tired out from the long work week.
We took part in the 6KM Bestie run and though we didn’t exactly run alot, we spent the time engaging in deep conversations and do some serious catching up. That’s one of the ways you can grow and connect with your besties. Cheering each other in a race or walking side by side through thick and thin. She asked me to run ahead but I decided not to since it’s after all a bestie run and best friends stay together no matter what!
Xue Ying and I met at our previous workplace and we have been friends for almost 4 years now. It isn’t very long but I just felt that I could always engage in a heart-to-heart deep conversations with her because she is a person who remains open to ideas and possesses a listening heart. Whenever we catch up with one another, I would be able to pour our my heartfelt thoughts with ease and chatting with her made me feel enlightened as she would provide me with really interesting and insightful thoughts. It’s queer how we became best friends ever since even after that episode where she almost got me into hot soup! But I forgave her as she was three years younger than me and I naturally took on this ‘big sister’ role whenever I am hanging out with her.
Best friends are easy to find but hard to hold on to for a long time! Treasure your friends! Friendship is something so valuable that its irreplaceable.
After we completed the route, we set on the ‘green-green’ carpeted grass field and lazed around. It was not too bad as there were a couple of photo spots like the Bubbles-in-the-air and Rainbow zone to take beautiful Instagram pictures. But I wish there were more activities going on and more interesting photo booths, perhaps?
A glimpse of My Little Pony Characters! The participants were pretty amazed by the life-sized ponies because they walked in a very strange manner. Everyone was giggling. I remembered that very clearly!

My Little Pony fans would love these plushies! In fact, there were several die-hard fans of My Little Pony there. I think I saw this group of guys holding a pony plushie each at the event!
