#NextJenPartySingapore
Last Saturday marks Hotel Jen’s first birthday. So both Hotel Jen Tanglin and Hotel Jen Orchardgateway have teamed up in Singapore to host their first birthday party in style, together with 9 other Hotel Jens from other cities across the Asia-Pacific region to celebrate this joyous occasion.
They have invited everyone to join the celebrations with them on 31st March, where they will be hosting a Hawker themed buffet dinner in their restaurants J65 and Makan@Jen.
I was there last Saturday and I brought Esther along with me to introduce Jen to her. We went to both celebration buffet dinners to try out all the famous hawker stall food such as Bak Kut Teh by Song Fa.That was the best! Other pop-ups from Singapore food heroes includes The Hungry Bazterdz, Uncle G Handmade, Kaffles and Nomad the Gallant Coffee. And this is all part of Hotel Jen’s commitment to embrace local talent in the food and beverage industry.
There’s a plenty of good food to choose from their usual international buffet line in addition to the local pop-up stalls. The Hawker themed buffet dinner is priced only at $31 +++ which is a pretty good deal too.
I love checking out their dessert tables which has so many different types of delicious cakes to choose from. I just can’t decide!
How about some all-time favourite traditional kuehs which brought back memories of the past. I use to love eating the 9-layer kueh (九层糕) when I was a kid!
The Hungry Bazterdz with their truffle fries, grilled soy garlic chicken and Jerk Chicken. It’s a pity that their food turned a little cold. Otherwise, it would be awesome.
How about some Thai iced milk tea by Nomad the Gallant Coffee on a warm evening?
There’s Kaffles which serves up Thai Milk Tea waffles with maple syrup, mini cone with ice cream and some icing sugar.
Last but not least, that’s cripsy roast pork from Uncle G Handmade.
Our price possession for hunting down all the good food.
Since I wanted to check out the buffet over at Makan@Jen, I decided to take the shuttle bus with Esther to Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway.
Who knows the interior of the shuttle bus actually looks like a disco club?
I was in utter shock when I saw the colourful flash lights and loud music. IT’S SO COOL! I was already envisioning myself in this limousine, sipping wine and singing along to some great tunes.
I had a chance to finish a song before hopping off the bus and bid farewell to our host in the party bus. So, next up is Makan@Jen!
Both of us were already 80% full by the time we reached the buffet restaurant so we just shared and tried those local delights featured in this celebration buffet.
That celebratory mood is brought up all the way to the outdoor pool where the cake cutting ceremony was held. There were even more surprise and food for us! However, we were already in food coma.
You can find all your childhood sweets and snacks at this stall!
I really wonder what’s the inspiration behind this cake but too bad we didn’t get to eat it. But then again, our tummies are already satisfied with so much good food from the buffet.
Congrats to all winners who won hotel vouchers at Hotel Jen across the different cities in the world!
Happy Birthday, Jen! Have a blessed year ahead and see you soon!
