One Raffles Place is that shopping mall where all gym rats gather for a fill-up-me. There are several salad joints at One Raffles Place itself so naturally, all those fit and fabulous people would gather there for a meal right after their workout.
Personally, I like to hang out at Wheat and The Daily Cut because their meals are not only clean but pretty affordable too. Not too bad for a healthy and nutritious meal!
A couple of weeks ago, I get to try out Wheat Baumkuchen’s new menu and also Kraftwich (which I’ve always wanted to try!)
First Stop: KRAFTWICH
Kraftwich is under Swiss Bake and they served wholesome and generous slices of sandwiches. Each slice of the sandwiches is huge!
They also have a salad bar with a variety of toppings. And if you have a sweet tooth, you could also try their desserts from pastries, cakes to mug cakes. It’s as comprehensive as any other cafes.
If you want healthier treats, go for their freshly-squeezed juices!
SECOND STOP: WHEAT Baumkuchen
This Health Promotion Board (HPB)-approved eatery is always crowded especially during lunch time and right after office hours. On weekend mornings, it can get quite packed too! Gym goers can get a under-500 calorie meal here cooked with less salt and oil for around $10 or so. I would usually get the reindeer soba noodles for only $7.80!
The other day we tried their new dishes on the menu – Quinoa, Bull’s Eye and Striploin. Their ingredients are always fresh and even the meat is very tender. I would say that it is more of a cooked-type of well-balanced salad with some carbs, protein and a good amount of healthy fats. This is what conscious eating should be all about! A well-balanced meal with fresh ingredients cooked with healthier oils.
There are also other salad bars like Munch Smith Salad, Smors, Salad and Wrap and The Rabbit Hole. And if you are a vegetarian, you should check out Green Dot which serves one couple of my favourite vegetarian dishes too!
Many thanks to One Raffles Place for hosting this event!
