I checked out their website a week ago and I found some really interesting products to try. 1) BioGaia ProTectis
It’s my first time seeing probiotic tablets in a form of a flavoured chewable tablet. I took the BioGaia Chewable tablets as a form of a dietary supplement to promote a healthier gut. It contains Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis, a natural Lactobacillus that helps to restore a natural balance in the gut. This bacteria is BioGaia’s own patented probiotic bacteria and it naturally occurs in the human body.
I chose this probiotic as it doesn’t seem to have a lot of other artificial added into it. It merely contains isomalt, xylitol, L.reuteri Protectis, palm oil, lemon-lime flavouring and flavour enhancer. It is also chewable and I enjoy it like I’m eating candies. For me, I don’t like the feeling of swallowing pills.
The recommended dose is 1 to 2 tablets a day and it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. But the product did not state whether it is suitable for children or not.
Effective? It sure is! But I would usually take about 2 tablets a day and it takes promote regular bowel movement.
2) Comvita Manuka Honey
Manuka honey has amazing healing properties. This honey isn’t quite like the manuka honey you can find in supermarkets. It’s a UMF graded honey which has been tested and certified by the Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association (UMFHA).
It’s like a really concentrated form of honey and it really soothes the throat. I like to mix it into some warm herbal tea and drink it when I’m having a slight sore throat or a cold. This is one amazing natural remedy you must have it right at home.
3) Sambucol Kids Gummies
As a kid, I love eating that robot vitamin C tablets because it tasted like candies. I spotted some of these vitamin gummies for kids on Glovida so I decided to try it. Besides these immune boosting gummies by Sambucol contains no artificial colours or flavouring. Each pastille contains Sambucus nigra (black elderberry fruit) juice powder, ascorbic acid, honey and zinc. It’s pretty ‘clean’ for a vitamin gummies for kids. Not only it tasted great, it is very chewy too.
I also realised that Sambucol also carries their own cough syrup formulation which I might want to try having it the next time round if I happen to have the cough. Like their gummies, the cough syrup uses a simple formula with the elderberry as their main ingredient.
I am hoping that Glovida would carry more of such natural remedies which are usually not available in pharmacies or clinics.
I was excited to find a range of skincare products at Glovida too. Hopefully, there would be a larger variety of skincare products in time to come.
4) Heliocare Advanced Sunscreen (Gel Formula)
I’ve actually heard of this brand of sunblock which is recommended by an aesthetic doctor as it is one of the sunblocks around in the market that has a gel formula. Although it is slightly tinted, it doesn’t provide much coverage. But it is actually really what I was looking for – a gel-based sunblock that is lightweight yet effective in protecting the skin against harmful UV rays.
It comes in two volumes but I got the smaller version one just to test out the product. I might be stocking up a few of these because I really like the light formula that doesn’t clog the pores.
I love how this product can be spread out so easily into the skin and it doesn’t feel tacky. Looking for a gel-based sunscreen? This has the best formula thus far.
