Festive Family Tea Experience @ Capella, Singapore

Untitled
Something’s brewing at Capella Singapore this festive season. Other than their all-time favorite Christmas Brunch, they are organizing more intimate afternoon catch-ups at Chef’s Table, Capella Singapore’s latest designer home-style kitchen. From the kitchen, you get to enjoy the breath-taking view of the South China Sea and surrounding greenery. Occasionally, you might get up-close and personal with their endearing resident, peacocks which are seen to be wandering all around Sentosa island.Untitled

I got to have a taste of what Festive Family Tea Experience is like a couple of days ago at Capella Singapore and it is a wonderful tea experience not just for the family but people of all ages.
It is more than just an afternoon tea as children get to participate in the cupcake and gingerbread-decorating activities with the joyous man in the whole Universe, Santa Claus. There’s also a coloring booth where children can express their creativity outlet and stay engaged even while dining. Rest assured, this would be a great time for the husband and wife to enjoy some romantic time together over tea.

In addition to the festival tea savory and sweet bites, you also get to enjoy some tea from a selection of Ronnefeldt teas that they have.
I had the Oolong peach tea which is a fruity black tea that has a sweet citrusy note.

For starters, we had the following (from top to bottom, left to right):
1. Home-cured Salmon Gravlax with Watercress Puree and Pickled Shallot
2. Mushroom Croque Sandwich with Cheese and Smoked Duck
3. Christmas Feuillete with Parmesan
4. Custard Duck liver with fresh black truffle and port wine sauce
The starter was mind-blowing and it’s the best we had for tea that evening. And each bite was exceptionally good especially the custard duck liver with a thin slice of black truffle.

Cranberry Scones
Cranberry scones were served with honey, jam and creme fraiche. It was served warm and it’s on the soft spongy side but I prefer it to have a biscuit-like texture.

There isn’t a short of sweet treats where you get to enjoy these delicate sweet bites (left to right):
1) Almond Marzipan Stollen
2) Dark Chocolate Cheesecake with Gingerbread Crust
3) Apricot Cardamom Chocolate ‘Sacher’
4) Lemon curd tartlet with Castanea paste
My favorite is the lemon curd tartlet which has a refreshing citrus scent. It is less sugary as compared to the other cakes.

Citrus Peel Dundee Cake

This is a traditional Scottish cake is beautifully baked with citrus peel. We would have enjoyed this cake better if it is served before all the sweet cakes. By the time, it came to the last tea treat, we were overdose with sugar.
