Chinatown CNY Market + Well-Dressed Salad Bar Review

    IMG_7526

I was at bustling Chinatown’s Chinese New Year (CNY) Market a couple of weeks ago for a Chinatown Heritage Tour and I must say that so much has changed. It’s my first time walking around Chinatown during CNY period after almost a decade. As usual, you can expect a jostling crowd here and though I thought it would just be a street full of CNY goodies and decorations, I was surprised to find some really cool finds. You can definitely see that there’s a growing number of health-conscious individuals here in Singapore and there’s certainly a demand for health products like organic food items. As I walked down Pagoda Street and Trengganu Street, I discovered that there were also some vegan-friendly and cruelty-free food items and as well as street food to try. Some of the food finds may not be exactly healthy but it’s vegan-friendly. There were also a couple of stores selling kitchenware made out of eco-friendly material, Wheat.

We also dropped by WellDressed Salad Bar for a vegetarian lunch. It was surprisingly good and affordable too. I ordered curry while Sam ordered Shakshuka with eggs. They pretty famous for their rustic vegan bakes like donuts, cakes, and other desserts.

After checking out the market, we went up People’s Park Complex to one of the most instagrammable places in Singapore – carpark outside Le Park. This is where you get to take pictures with cool graffiti as backdrops.
