Gardens By The Bay : Blue Beauties

DSCF0072

Hi, Glitzies!

Recently, I’ve just visited Gardens By The Bay to view one of their most beautiful floral display called Blue Beauties at the Flower Dome. True spectrum blue is one of the most uncommon colours in plant and thus it is definitely a rare sight to see all the different shades of brilliant blue flowers clustered all together.

You would find flowers that are cherished for their vivid blue hues like agapanthus, hydrangeas and delphiniums flourish in a French-inspired garden. Set amidst a specially-designed landscape dotted with a wall trellis, topiaries, a fountain and gazebo, these blue blooms will be complemented by the purple and pink tones of gladiolus, lupins and foxgloves. The European-style setting makes a great backdrop for photos.

I went early in the morning to get capture some shots and thankfully, the flower dome wasn’t flooding with visitors yet so I managed to take some nice wide-angle shots without any random passer-bys in my photos. The lighting was perfect too as the golden sun rays started to stream in through glass windows of the Flower Dome. It was pretty spectacular I must say. The beautiful scent of flowers wafted through the air and that made it so much more enjoyable to hang out longer at the Flower Dome. Somehow, I felt that this time Gardens By The Bay is really putting in a lot of effort to ensure that their flowers last longer.

But I am pretty puzzled as to why they didn’t include Blue Pea Flower as part of the floral display.

And if you’re visiting the Flower Dome, please don’t destroy the beauty of this place by plucking the flowers. Once you pluck them away, the flowers will soon die and the rest of the visitors can witness the glory and beauty of these precious flowers. Take photos or sniff them with your nose.

And as usual, before leaving the place, I would usually get a cup of lavender ice cream by Udders which is specially sold at Gardens By The Bay souvenir shops. Weather’s hot but with ice cream, life is good.
