School’s out and fun’s in. Now that there’s a whole month of rest how should you and your family spend the June holidays in a fun yet fruitful manner? Sentosa has a list of fun June Holiday activities just for you and your family to enjoy and indulge in during this June Holidays. Whether you’re 5, 15, 25 or 35 years old, there’s something fun and exciting for you to experience here at Sentosa. And the best part? Some of these activities are free-of-charge.

And if you happen to be a tourist which is visiting Singapore this month, you’re in for a treat.

Here’s my Sentosa itinerary for you.

Morning

Spend the early hours in the morning at Vivocity to do some shopping. This is the best time of the day to do some window shopping or trying out some local food at Vivocity basement because, after 3 pm, the mall can get very crowded.

After enjoying the air-con in the mall, it’s time to head over to Sentosa and soak yourself in the sun. There are several ways of getting into Sentosa. You can get in for free by heading over to the Sentosa Boardwalk where you can get to enjoy some beautiful scenery of the ships by the harbour and take scenic photos too.

If you prefer not to walk, you can also hop onto the bus from Resort World Sentosa and it will cost you a dollar for that. A faster way of getting to Sentosa is to hop on the Sentosa Express or monorail but that would cost you $4. For more information on how to get to Sentosa, click this link here.

Afternoon

Make Fort Siloso your first stop at Sentosa to be one of the first to visit the newly revamped Surrender Chambers at Fort Siloso. There are enhanced way-finding features at Fort Siloso which will make your self-guided tour a breeze. It is truly an enriching journey for the younger generations as well who have not been through the war adversities to understand the struggles of our young nation. There are added interactive elements within the exhibit which brought the stories of the historic British and Japanese surrenders to life.

The admission to the Surrender Chambers is free!

Time for a short historic tour of Singapore.

It’s a painful memory but it made us stronger as a nation than before.

It’s a one-of-a-kind exhibit where you could follow the audio played within the chambers as it retold the historical events that took place in Singapore during World War Two.

Leave a PEACE message towards the end of the self-guided tour!

After an enriching educational tour, make your way to Palawan Beach to enjoy a MEGA good time at Mega Fun. This is where your kids or any adrenaline junkies would belt out a ‘YEAH!’.  There’s a free admission to Mega Inflatables playground where you can look forward to plenty of bouncing in this water playground. If you’re game enough to experience some serious fun, then you should take a slide on Singapore’s largest inflatable slide which measures about 10 metres in height! That’s about three storeys high!

Whether you’re a kid or an adult, Sentosa welcomes you to join in the fun at their water park.

For a start, you can hang around at the Palawan Pirate Ship where there are gushing fountains, splashing water, slides and a Pirate-head that pours out buckets of water. Get ready to be splashed at!

Kids can enjoy their foam party without being at the club. Does this remind you of the Siloso Beach Party?

The slide is so HUGE and TALL that anyone who can conquer this slide is ready to conquer the world. Who’s up for this?

Remember to slap some sunblock though!

Evening

After a great calorie-burning ‘workout’ at MEGA Fun, it’s time to fill your stomachs with some good food. If you prefer something local, I would recommend Good Old Days at Beach Station. The local dishes are not too bad and prices are pretty reasonable.

Late into the evening, you can chill by Palawan Beach to watch a movie by the beach to end your day. Movies by the Beach starts at 7.30pm and ends at 9.30pm at Palawan Green. It is available from 8 June to 25 June 2017. Do check out Sentosa’s Official Facebook page for more updates.

You could also catch Merlion Magic Lights! at Merlion Plaza (outside Imbiah Station) where you would witness a one-of-a-kind light and music show of the iconic colour-changing Sentosa Merlion against the night sky. This 8-minute showcase, which lasts from now until 9 July, is free. Below are the timings of the Merlion Magic Lights!

Weekdays : 7.45pm, 8.15pm, 8.45pm and 9.15pm

Weekends, Eve of PH and PH:  7.45pm, 8.15pm, 8.45pm, 9.15pm, 9.45pm and 10.15pm

You should be so exhausted by then after spending a day at Sentosa so the best way to get back to the city is via Sentosa Express which is right next to Merlion Plaza. So this is how you spend a fun day out during your June Holidays like a pro – without spending much!

So vacation doesn’t always mean that you would need to get on a plane and travel to another country in order to experience new things. You can also do a short staycation here at Sentosa instead of going overseas is a great idea. It’s one of the ways to reduce your carbon footprint and be eco-friendly.
