Hard Rock Hotel, Desaru Coast
During our media familiarisation trip (organised by Tourism Malaysia Board) to Desaru Coast, we stayed one night at Hard Rock Hotel, Desaru Coast. It is one of the 5-star resort hotels at this new precinct in Johor.
This hotel started its operations only in September 2018. During our stay there in December 2018, some of the rooms are not ready yet.
I’ve not stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel before and had no idea what to expect. But I’m certain that all Hard Rock Hotels will provide quality sound entertainment which would keep any rock music fans entertained. As compared to all the other hotels at Desaru, this hotel has to be the loudest.
Hotel Amenities
Due to our packed schedule, we did not have much time to explore the hotel or check out the hotel amenities. But I managed to take quick snapshots of it though I might be missing out a few of the Hard Rock amenities.
It houses the usual 5-star hotel amenities like – swimming pool, gym, spa, bars, restaurants – and a Hard Rock shop selling Hard Rock merchandise.
Swimming Pool and Bar Areas
They’ve got a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Water Adventure Park Desaru. Next to the pool is a Mexican poolside bar and grill called The Elephant and the Butterfly.
There are more dining spots like GMT+8, the lobby bar as well as Constant Grind, a coffee bar.
Daily Live Music
There’s also a staging area where live band performances are held. The lead singer has got solid vocals there! The daily live music starts in the evening til late at GMT+8 bar which is near the Hotel lobby area.
Rock Shop
Are you a fan of Hard Rock? You can shop for their Hard Rock merchandise which is exclusive only to Hard Rock Hotel, Desaru Coast.
Deluxe Room
Apparently, we stayed one night at their Deluxe Room (with one King Bed) which comes with a balcony facing the Water Adventure Park Desaru.
Bathroom
Since this hotel is newly constructed, all the rooms are newly furnished with swanky modern furnitures.
Coffee and Tea-making Facilities
The snack bar and chilled beverages in the minibar are complimentary. Now, that does make me feel like a rock star! Do rock stars often emptied the minibar?
And instead of providing mineral water bottles, they prepared reusable stainless steel metal bottles for you to fill up water.
These bottles are sterilised and sealed with plastic at the bottle cap. Thus, there are clean and safe to use. Remember to return the bottles though; so that they can reuse these bottles.
Water coolers are installed at every level of the hotel, close to the lift area. Thus, making it convenient for hotel guests to obtain drinkable water anytime.
Say No to Plastic Bottles
I love this eco-friendly concept of using refillable bottles. If they can do it, why can’t others do it too?
Session (International Breakfast)
We had our hotel breakfast at Session restaurant. It is located one floor below the hotel lobby.
The international breakfast buffet has a good spread of local, Asian and Western breakfast items. The quality of the food is good; some dishes, like Roti Canai, are delicious.
A Family-friendly Resort
Facing the Hard Rock Hotel is the Water Adventure Park Desaru. For hotel guests, there is a direct passageway which links the hotel to the water theme park itself.
If your kids love to play in the water, they will go nuts over this water theme park. This kid-friendly water theme park features a water rollercoaster, tidal wave pool, a swim-up bar and a water playground just for kids only.
If you prefer a lesser-known destination to travel with your family and kids, this might be it.
There’s water slides to play, delicious food to eat and great music to listen.
