Whenever I’m feeling down, I look up to the Lord for comfort. And I sincerely wish that more people will be looking up, instead of looking down or even to man. And if you are lost, you can find answers in these biblical quotes which I’m about to share.

I wasn’t a firm believer of Christ until 3 years ago when I submit myself to the Lord. Before that, I did not really understand the power of the gospel and comprehend the love of God – agape. It is an indescribable love so intense, perfect and pure.

Now that He has found me; I, have abided by Him, I felt safe and secure in His arms. Whether you are a believer or not, I hope these 10 biblical quotes will lift your spirits up; just like these God-breathed words have blessed me.

These are not simple quotes with positive words and affirmations about life but are quotes that speak of truth and depth.

1. “So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!”And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” – John 19:30

When Jesus said ‘it is finished’, His work on earth is complete. Our sins are paid – once and for all. The devil has been defeated. The negativity in us has been defeated. And we are now standing on righteous and victorious grounds. The battle is the Lord’s. The price has been paid so what are we worrying and be anxious for? Why should we turn to others when we can turn to Him?

2. “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

God uses the weak and vulnerable to do great things. Time and time again, we’ve seen in the bible where the weak became strong and the last became the first. Our efforts and strength are never enough for this world. But with God’s favour and wisdom, we will be strengthened in Him. The two fishes and five loaves in our hands will be multiplied in abundance.

3. “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Matthew 7:8

God knew what’s in our hearts even before we know it. Even then, God wants us to us. If you are a parent, you love the feeling of dependence from a child. And our God wants us to ask directly from Him. I’ve witnessed this countless times in my life as well as the lives of others. All you need is a mustard seed of faith. If you are looking for a life partner, ask the Lord. When I asked the Lord for a partner, He gave me an exceedingly good life partner – more than what I could ask for.

At times, the things you ask for may not come to pass quickly. We just need to be patient for God will answers. Sometimes, God made certain decisions and intercedes for us because He had plans for us to prosper.

4. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

God never fails but man fails. That is why we became disappointed and then blame God for all these disappointments. It is important to recognise that our almighty God is a loving God who helps, heals, uplifts, sets free and blesses people who place their trust in Him. There are biblical stories and present-day testimonies which serve as pieces of evidence that His love for us never fails.

5. “What then shall we say in response to all these things? If God is for me, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

God is never against man. He created man with His hands. We are His sons and daughters. And if anyone is against you, be sure that God will turn things around – just like what happened in the story of Esther – to protect you. I could have encountered a series of misfortunate events but time and time again, God has kept me under His wings, keeping me safe.

6. “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost until he finds it?” – Luke 15:4

No one is left behind. Even if you deemed yourself as unclean, God will never forsake you if you turn to Him. He is looking for us – every day. I was once a lost sheep who strayed away from the main herd but now I’m found. And I never want to lose sight of my Lord. The terrains ahead may be rough to trudge on but I know He will extend his mighty hands to help me up. He will come for us.

7. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19

We are not lacked. There is an abundance of goodness in the Heavens and likewise on Earth. ” So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven gives good things to those who ask him?” – Matthew 7:11. Our God is a generous God who creates a land flowing with milk and honey for its people. We do not have to covet what others have when our Father in Heaven readily gives and wants us not to worry about our needs for He, will meet ALL of my needs.

God knows you by name and even the number of hair strands growing on your head. That’s how much He cares for. And if you can feel His love for you, you will worry and fear no more.

Hope these quotes you lift you up, just like how it has lifted me.
