Eucerin has been my recommended skincare brand ever since I’ve started using their Hyaluron-filler products. Since then, I’ve been using their products religiously and have emptied all of their products. This time, I will be reviewing their bestselling soothing skin balm, Eucerin® Aquaphor. I’ve been using this product for about a week now and I think this balm really works wonders for the skin.

The Wonder Balm
There are a few reasons why this balm is much raved about online as well. Some would also compare this product to other petroleum jelly products.
It’s a versatile product
First and foremost, it is a multi-purpose petroleum-based balm which can help to soothe dry skin and other skin irritations like cracked skin and minor burns. It is also gentle enough to be used on babies’ skin.
Eucerin® Aquaphor also works well as a lubricant to prevent your skin from chafing during sports.
And if you need to add a natural sheen or glow to your skin, you can melt some of the product between your fingers and pat it gently over your cheekbones.
Simple yet effective
Secondly, it is a non-comedogenic balm with a simple ingredient formula. Eucerin® Aquaphor consists of only 7 ingredients – Paraffinum Liquidum, Cera Microcristallina, Ceresin, Lanolin Alcohol (Eucerit®), Panthenol, Glycerin and Bisabolol.
Unlike other petroleum jelly products, Eucerin® Aquaphor is enriched with hydrating ingredients like glycerin and panthenol. Glycerin attracts water and helps to retain moisture in the skin. Panthenol, on the other hand, promotes regeneration and restoration of the skin while moisturising it. It is essentially the added ingredients which made Eucerin® Aquaphor stood out from other petroleum-based products.
It is also not formulated with any antibacterial agents, preservatives or fragrances.
No sticky feel
Thirdly, its transparent and water-free texture dissolves and absorbs easily into the skin without leaving the skin feeling sticky. I like to apply the balm on my cracked heels and rough hands. And the balm would be melt right into the skin almost instantly, leaving only a sheer glossy sheen on the skin. Personally, I felt that this balm works wonder on chapped lips. It works better than any lips balm which I’ve tried before.
Eucerin® Aquaphor comes in two sizes
You can either the bigger tub (110ml) or the smaller travel-friendly jars (7ml) which fits nicely into small purses and bags. I personally prefer the small-sized jars and I used only a small amount of the product on a daily basis.
But if you do live in wintry or dryer climates, it would be good to get the bigger tub. The soothing balm will keep your skin hydrated and moisturised throughout the day.
Currently, I’ve been using it on my neck, hands and feet just before going to bed. And I’m so thankful that this product absorbs easily into the skin at the soles of my feet. Otherwise, I will be transferring some of the product from the feet to the floor. This is always the case when I use a foot balm which tends to get smeared all over the flooring in my bedroom. It sometimes got rubbed off onto my bedsheets.
Over time, the skin at the soles of my feet starts to feel smoother. And the dry and cracked skin on my heels is healing slowly. It might take another week or so for the skin to repair itself with the regular use of this product.
Whether you are young or old, male or female, everybody needs such a multi-purpose soothing balm at home. It is a travel essential too because you will never know when you actually need it.
