This is another product which made it to my daily beauty holy grail of skincare products. Some beauty gurus actually compare this product with some of the most expensive and luxurious skin essences. I am not surprised as it had revived by desertified skin. So, what makes HERA Cell essence a product worth investing in?

HERA Cell Essence Cell-Bio Fluid Sync 2.0
It is my first time trying out this high-end K-beauty brand, HERA which receiving several positive reviews from K-beauty gurus. As you can already guess, I was so psyched up to try this product. Who knew that I would end up growing in love with this cell essence after using it for about three weeks? I just wish the essence would not run out as fast!
The HERA cell essence is a functional pre-essence which contains a body fluid-mimicking solution called Cell-Bio Fluid SyncTM 2.0. The solution essentially consists of 8 skin activators which help the skin to stay hydrated and lock in moisture. Once your skin is well-hydrated and moist, it will look more supple, bright and dewy. Essentially, it helps to combat skin desertification.
What is skin desertification?
Skin desertification is a condition when your skin loses the ability to hold on to moisture due to ageing and other environmental factors. It literally means that our skin has become somewhat like a ‘desert’ where your skin just could not retain any moisture naturally. No matter how much water you sprinkle on the desert ground, the water will eventually evaporate. Similarly, applying moisturiser on desertified skin can only hydrate the skin surface temporarily.
And thanks to the innovative technology of this product, HERA Cell essence can help to revive desertified skin by supplying the skin cells with the right nutrients to lock in the natural body fluids.
How to use HERA Cell essence?
The science behind this product may seem complicated at this point. But what’s more important is whether this product is effective or not. To reap the maximum benefits of this product, it is best to follow HERA’s recommended steps.
According to the instructions, this pre-essence is to be used right after washing your face. You can use once in the morning and once in the evening. And you should be using about 2.5 ml of the essence at every one time.
The glass bottle itself is graduated so you can use the marked lines as a guide. Ultimately, you should be using about 5ml per day. It is actually quite a substantial amount of product to be applied on your skin. And if you use this recommended amount, this glass bottle of essence will run out within one month.
HERA Cell Essence Facial Care Cotton
Each box of HERA Cell Essence comes with a glass bottle of HERA Cell Essence Cell-Bio Fluid Sync and a box of facial care cotton pads. That’s an added bonus for me!
Textured Cotton Pads
The HERA Cell Essence facial care cotton are no ordinary cotton pads. Their so-called double-effect facial cotton pads have two different textured sides – wave-patterned side and mesh-pattered side. Depending on your skin condition, you can use either side when applying the essence. For me, I used both sides
The wave-patterned side feels ultra soft and gentle on the skin. On the other hand, the mesh-patterned side has a rough texture which will help remove dead skin and dirt accumulated on the skin. So if you feel that your skin needed an extra exfoliation that day, you can use the mesh-patterned side of the cotton pad to apply the essence.
The design of the box is well thought of. Simply press along the perforated lines on the box to create a slot at the bottom of the cotton pad box. It allows for an easy dispensation of cotton pads.
Mesh-Patterned Side
The mesh-patterned side has a rough texture which will help remove dead skin and dirt accumulated on the skin. So if you feel that your skin needed an extra exfoliation that day, you can use the mesh-patterned side of the cotton pad to apply the essence.
I personally prefer the mesh-patterned side as it effectively helps to get rid of any skin debris and dirt.
Wave-patterned side
The wave-patterned side feels ultra soft and gentle on the skin. So on days when you feel your skin needed some tender loving care (TLC), you can use this side of the cotton pad to swipe it across your face.
In the morning…
Based on the product instructions, it recommended users to apply the essence using the tap method with our hands. The tapping motion of your fingers will help to ‘wake’ the skin up.
I actually enjoyed using this product in the morning because the essence has a pleasant mood-lifting scent.
In the evening…
In the evening, swipe your skin meticulously with a cotton pad soaked with the essence.
My Verdict
This is one of the most luxurious skin essences that works for my skin. I only start to see noticeable results after using the essence for about two weeks. My skin looks more dewy and glowy even though I still do have skin imperfections every now and then.
It is impossible for me to capture the glow and dewiness of my skin on camera. Unless I’m armed with those special photo studio lighting…
I also realised that you do really have to stick to the recommended amount of 5ml of essence per day in order for your skin to look bright and dewy the next morning.
