Why I visit Christmas Wonderland year after year?
That’s simply because year after year, they switch things up. Every year, there seem to be new attractions and Christmas displays. The more popular attractions and programmes stay while the rest of it gets eradicated to make way for new highlights.
Also, there is really no other festive place in Singapore to hang out during Christmas other than Orchard Road where you get to view the Christmas lightings. But year after year, it is pretty much the same. This is unlike Christmas Wonderland where there are plenty of things to do.
The only downside to Christmas Wonderland is that admission is not free and same goes for the ticketed shows. The admission ticket price starts from $6 onwards.
Whether you are heading there for the first time or not, I would suggest that you plan out which festive highlights to check out. That’s because there are so many activities and events happening at Christmas Wonderland at the same time. To make your ticket money worth, this is how you can plan your day at Christmas Wonderland. I wish I had done my homework before checking this place out!
Here’s my suggested itinerary.
It is best to purchase your tickets online and enter Christmas Wonderland via Gate 3 which is near the Sleeping Baby structure. It will lead you towards the Meadow. This entrance is not as crowded too because most visitors will enter via Gate 1.

6.00 PM: Visit Santa’s Workshop
Make your way to Santa’s workshop and take lovely Christmas shots in this magical place which smells like candy, caramel and chocolate. Yes, I think the perfumed the whole place with a sweet caramel scent. Don’t forget to take a picture with Santa!
6.30 PM: Dine at The Christmas Tree Cafe
It’s better to have an early dinner so that you don’t have to jostle with the crowd later for food. I would suggest getting a small bite here as there is more food available at the festive market! Because the sky is still rather bright at 6.30 pm, you will be able to take better Instagram photos of your food.
7.00 PM: Watch a show at Meadow Theatre, go for the carnival rides or play the carnival games
There are four theatrical productions at Meadow Theatre and tickets start from $6 each. You can enjoy a circus performance by Australia Trash Test Dummies as well as a smash-hit London production, Snow Play.
If you are not into such Christmas-themed productions, you can head over to the carnival to try out the rides or play games. Tokens can be purchased at the Token booths.
There are eighteen traditional carnival games and rides which includes the Mini Viking, Bumper Cars, Christmas Train and the all-new Swing Chair Carousel.
7.45 PM: Take pictures at the Walk of Peace
As you head down to the watch the Christmas Parade, don’t forget to check out the 50-metre long Walk of Peace which is illuminated by 60,000 tiny flower-shaped light bulbs. It’s so bright that you won’t miss it!
8.00 PM: Catch the Christmas Parade
Look out for Santa on his reindeer sleigh, dancing elves and Santarinas on their Christmas floats! Remember to sing and dance along!
8.45 PM: Garden Rhapsody at Supertree Grove
Don’t miss this musical treat – The Christmas Special at the Supertree Grove. Witness the Supertree lights dancing to favourite Christmas classics and tunes sung by local artists, Andrew Marko and Ethel Yap.
9.00 PM: Shop and eat at the Festive Market
If you are not into the festive market, you can also head over to the majestic luminaries (light sculptures) to enjoy the Yuletide Sessions by homegrown artists or Christmas carols by local choir groups.
9.30 PM: Eat ice cream at Häagen-Dazs
Eating ice cream on cold rainy days is another experience altogether. I’ve tried Häagen-Dazs’ new ice cream flavours and they were really good.
9.55 PM Blizzard Time by Häagen-Dazs at the Luminarie
Unfortunately, we do not have four seasons here in Singapore. But with technology (along with brilliant minds), we are able to recreate that magical snowing effect here.
Blizzard time is my favourite highlight in Christmas Wonderland. It was such a magical sight with the artificial snow raining down against the backdrop of the stunning 21-metre tall Spalliera inspired by the iconic towers of San Gimignano in Tuscany, Italy. Don’t worry about getting foam on your hair and clothes. It’s all part of the winter wonderland experience!
10.00 PM: Slide down the ‘snow’ and make your way home
You might not have a sleigh with you to slide your way home but at least the floor is slippery enough for you to slide on your butt back home.
