Chinese New Year celebrations will start early next year in January. To usher in the joyous year of Rat, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel has already came up with a bountiful of auspicious culinary creations across at their buffet restaurant, the Food Capital.
I was invited by the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel to try some of their lunar new year festive dishes which they will be offering their Lunar New Year Festive Buffet, Lunar New Year Eve Reunion Buffet and Lunar New Year Private Feast.
Fa Cai Yu Sheng
In addition to that, they are also offering their signature Salmon Fa Cai Yu Sheng and Abalone Fa Cai Yu Sheng. You can actually order their Fa Cai Yu Sheng while dining at Food Capital or do a takeaway.
We had massive Salmon Fa Cai Yu Sheng plated right in front of us. The ingredients they used were pretty good and the salmon come in thick fat slices.

Lunar New Year Buffets at Food Capital
Expect a whole array of good fresh seafood along with Chinese New Year traditional dishes at the buffet line. Their oysters are especially fresh and succulent! Remember to try it with their own concoctions of sauces that are paired with the seafood.
You can also enjoy dishes like Pen Cai, Lap Mei Fried Rice with seaweed crumbs, stir-fried prawn with chilli and curry leaves and dumpling with osmanthus honey. For desserts, there’s yam paste with gingko nuts, sesame balls and mango pudding.
