Not too long ago, we celebrated Mother’s Day and in a few weeks’ time, we will be celebrating Father’s Day on 21 June. Even as the economy is starting to open up, we may still have to practise social distancing and good hygiene. Restaurants and eateries may start to open up but not to its full capacity and getting a table might not be that easy. As such, we may still have to make do with food deliveries and takeaways. The biggest question now is, will food standards be comprised?
Food delivery from Grissini
Many F&B outlets have stepped up their food packaging and delivery game to ensure that the freshness of the food is preserved. For Grissini at Grand Copthorne Waterfront, they have their own delivery team to deliver meals right to your doorstep. They are able to keep up to their delivery times and they ensure that the food is packed properly so that the food still tastes as good as it is being served straight out from their kitchen.
I was invited to try out their latest Father’s Day Set menu (prepared for 2 pax for review purposes) and below are the fantastic dishes I’ve tried. Their food quality did not disappoint me at all and though I would definitely prefer to dine at Grissini’s classy restaurants,
Caesar Salad
Ingredients: Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, tuna sauce, shaved parmesan, croutons
I started off with the Caesar salad as appetisers. To elevate your dining experience, I highly recommend that you plate out the dishes onto proper dining ware. You can get creative and reassemble the fresh ingredients.
Penne Pasta
Ingredients: Salad Pesto, black olives, corn
Men love two things – carbs and meat. Since most men are pretty big-eaters (like my Dad), having some pasta as a side is a good choice. The portions are big and the penne pasta is really tasty. To me, it doesn’t taste like home-cooked food but a restaurant-standard dish, all because of the quality ingredients used and fine cooking techniques involved.
Regina Margherita Pizza
Ingredients: Mozzarella, San Marzano tomato, dry oregano, extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil, cherry tomatoes
Turn the heat up with this thin-crust Italian-style pizza. It’s not as warm as I wanted it to be but the crust is still very crisp, not soggy. You will need to do is to just heat up in the microwave oven for about 15 seconds for the cheese to soften.
By the way, you can’t (virtually) walk out of Grissini without trying their pizzas. It’s a must.
Grilled Pork Chop
Ingredients: Pork belly with braised onions, roasted vegetables, mushroom sauce
As for the mains, we had grilled pork chop and pan-seared Seabream fillet which comes along with some side dishes like roasted vegetables and mashed potato. I feel full just by looking at these lip-smacking dishes packed in a bento box.
The grilled pork is definitely a highlight for me. It’s very moist and tender.
Pan-Seared Seabream Fillet
Ingredients: Broccoli, Jerusalem artichokes, roasted tomatoes
Tiramisu Cup
Ingredients: Savoiardi, espresso, mascarpone cream, coffee liqueur, eggs
We ended off the hearty meal with some tiramisu which is beautifully crafted with a big dollop of mascarpone cream and real fragrant coffee liqueur. You might get a little tipsy when you are down to the last spoonful of the dessert.
This Father’s Day Set Meal is totally worth a try. Don’t miss out on their latest promotions!
