Alfresco Dining Experience
It was raining heavily that evening so we had our dinner at Grissini Italian Grill restaurant, instead of dining alfresco along the Waterfront. Or if it’s too warm outside, you can always request to sit indoors.
We started off with some drinks. I would recommend their refreshing Virgin Mohito that comprises of mint leaves, lime, sugar and soda water.
Check out these daily specials!
After ordering your drinks, do ask their staff what are the specials and deals for the day. On Mondays, their grilled lobsters are going only for $9.90! And on Wednesdays, they are offering the snow crab legs for just $1 each.
Lobsters for $9.90 on Mondays
What about Ladies night? Enjoy one-hour free flow of drinks at just $1 with a minimum spending of $25.
Seafood Mountain ($48 on weekends and public holidays)
To make the most of our your alfresco dining experience, I would recommend by dropping by on weekends or public holiday to enjoy their seafood mountain special deal. For $48, you get to enjoy a huge seafood platter comprising of snow crab legs, fresh oysters, tiger prawns, mussels, half-shell scallops, cheery clams and ocean whelks.
This seafood mountain is good for 4 to 5 people. It also comes with some savoury sauces that go well with the fresh seafood.
Grilled Satay (must-try!)
You can choose between pork or chicken satay. It comes with cucumber, onion, Ketupat and peanut sauce. The satays were delicious and there were all gone within minutes.
Make-Your-Own-Pasta
When it comes to their pastas, they provide diners with some creativity freedom by allowing them to customise their pastas. You can choose the types of pastas and sauces you would like to have. If you have no idea what to choose, you can always speak to their staff and they would recommend some pasta combinations that would suit your tastebuds.
Josper Grill Signatures: Meat Combo
If you are eating in a table of 4 or 5, you should try their meat or seafood combo under their Josper Grill signatures. They grill their premium meat and fresh seafood using the Josper oven which is fired by charcoal and smoked with apple wood.
This unique oven brings out the aroma and unique textures of each ingredients. That is why their meats are lip-smacking delicious, tender and aromatic.
Their meat combo consists of Duck Leg Confit, Baby Spring Chicken,
Pork Bratwurst (German sausage) and USA Angus Beef Striploin. You can order some sides like mashed potato and mixed mesclun salad to go along with it. It also comes with a few sauces.
I particularly enjoy the Duck leg confit a lot because the meat is so tender. It literally just flakes off the bone with a fork.
Josper Grill specials: Seafood Combo
The seafood combo features Jumbo Tiger Prawns, Norwegian Salmon, Mediterranean Octopus Tentacle and Crispy Calamari. If you are an ultimate seafood lover, you will enjoy this grilled seafood combo.
Dessert Treats
For desserts, we were treated to their Chocolate Baked Alaska and Chef’s freshly made signature tiramisu.
Chocolate Baked Alaska
The chef prepared a flambéed version of Chocolate Baked Alaska where the dessert was coated with rum before it was set alight.
This is actually my first time trying out Baked Alaska or Omelette norvégienne. It is essentially an American dessert consisting of ice cream and cake topped with caramelised meringue. The portion below is meant for 2 people.
It was such an enjoyable dessert where you can taste the varied textures – soft and airy meringue, spongy cake and icy-cold chocolate ice cream. I love how the combination of the strong rum flavour, chocolate and the sweet caramelised taste of the burnt meringue.
Chef Freshly-made Signature Tiramisu
Chef did a creative spin on the classic Tiramisu by presenting it as a mini terrarium within a clear dome-shaped container. It tastes as good as it looks.
A great meal seems incomplete without some desserts and wine. You don’t have to travel out of Singapore just to try good food. Thank goodness we do have great restaurants and eateries in Singapore to fill our tummies and satisfy our hunger for quality food.
