This highly-anticipated exhibition, The World of Studio Ghibli, has finally reached our shores. This extraordinary exhibition experience brings Studio Ghibli’s films to life.

This exhibition is organised in collaboration with Studio Ghibli. It marks the Studio’s first showcase in Singapore, which explores the groundbreaking animation, storytelling, and well-loved characters that have captivated audiences worldwide for nearly four decades.

The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition was first presented in Japan in 2013 followed by South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and most recently, Bangkok. Now, it is in Singapore! The exhibition has undergone several changes over the years, with this upcoming iteration featuring new additions from Studio Ghibli’s latest film The Boy and the Heron (2023).

What to expect?

There are a total of 11 galleries featuring 11 Studio Ghibli films and it covers to 2 floors of exhibition space at ArtScience Museum. It will probably take you about an hour or even longer just to comb through the exhibits, take photos and take part in some of the hands-on activities at the exhibition.

  3. Princess Mononoke (1997)
  4. Spirited Away (2001)
  5. Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
  6. Castle in the Sky (1986)
  7. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
  8. The Boy and The Heron (2023)
  9. Porco Rosso (1992)
  10. Pom Poko (1994)
  11. Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (2008)

You will be able to explore 16 large-scale theatrical sets that transport you into the iconic scenes of Studio Ghibli movies.

It spans over 2 galleries: B2 Galleries (Howl’s Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky and My Neighbour Totoro) and Level 3 galleries (Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Pom Poko, Porco Rosso, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, The Boy and The Heron, retail shop).

There are some interactive exhibits as well as hands-on activities for guests. There are also several photo spots across the galleries. Find the extraordinary in everyday ordinary scenery, as Director Hayao Miyazaki had once said.

For Singapore residents:

Non-peak (Mon-Thu): $29 (adult), $24 (concession)

Peak (Fri-Sun): $39 (adult), $34 (concession)

For Tourists:

Non-peak (Mon-Thu): $39 (adult), $34 (concession)

Peak (Fri-Sun): $49 (adult), $44 (concession)

Concession tickets are for Senior Citizens above 65 years old, students and children aged 2 to 12 years old.
