Punggol Coast Mall: Explore Singapore’s New Open-air Mall in Punggol Digital District

Punggol Coast Mall Singapore

Punggol is no longer just another ‘ulu’ residential town which is far from the city area. Part of Punggol will be transformed into a digital district and it is set to be Singapore’s first largest mixed-use smart business park. From autonomous delivery robots and facial recognition technology, this neighbourhood will be the latest innovation hub in Singapore. It sounds pretty exciting, isn’t it?

Punggol Digital District

Spanning 50ha of land, the new Punggol Digital will host a business park, a 200-room hotel facing Coney Island, the Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) new campus and Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency building.

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) has also shifted its campuses into this new digital district. It is the first university in South-east Asia to draw power from a Multi-Energy Micro-Grid (MEMG), an innovation that eliminates carbon emission equivalent to removing 2,000 vehicles from our roads.

This new university campus is located right outside of Punggol Coast MRT station and it is next to the integrated mall, Punggol Coast Mall.

The campus also houses Foodgle Hub, a food court for both SIT students and staff. This eco-friendly food court is also open to the public.

SIT Punggol Digital District Foodgle Hub

It is a relatively large food court with a variety of food stalls. You will need to bring your own cups and containers if you would like to takeaway your food.

This is a good spot to chill and dine after exploring Coney Island which is located right opposite this brightly-lit food court.

Opening of Punggol Coast Mall

This open-air mall has also recently open about a month ago but not all stores are fully set up yet. As of 23 March 2025, about roughly 60% of the tenants have moved in and there are several more stores which have yet to be fully operating. Most of the stores will most likely be operating by April 2025.

The tenants are pretty similar to any regular mall in Singapore. You can find common well-known brands like Paradise Hotpot, Sukiya, Starbucks, Sushi Tei, Burger King, Luckin Coffee and more.

The Better Scoop

The Better Scoop is an ice cream shop that offers waffles and handcrafted ice cream. This is their fifth outlet here in Singapore. This would be a nice dessert spot to swing by after a meal.

The atrium of the malls in Singapore is often used as an event space. During our visit to the mall, there was a pop-up for families. Looking forward to more interesting events held within this space!
