[Review] Six Hands: This is probably the best salad shop in Singapore

Six Hands Salad Review Deenise Glitz

Six Hands is new salad joint in Singapore and they currently have two outlets in Singapore. They are managed by the same team behind Omote and Umai. Their first outlet is located at Millenia Walk and recently, they opened their second outlet at Far East Square. This outlet is bigger and has a larger seating area for diners to enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal. Response has been well-received and don’t be surprise to see hungry office workers chomping down on their salads during weekday lunch hours.

What’s on Six Hands menu?

You have order directly at the kiosk and wait for your order to arrive. If you plan to do a takeaway, you can help yourself to their takeaway bags and disposable utensils. They offer 6 Japanese-style signature salads, each featuring a different protein. There’s also a Make-Your-Own-Bowl option where you can customise your salad bowl to your liking. For me, I always opt for their signature salads as they have somehow perfected their salad combos and each one of it tastes great.

They also offer freshly-squeezed fruit juices and zero-sugar VitaPop drinks to go with your salads.

No one does salads like Six Hands.

Their salads are tossed with the right amount of salad dressings on the spot as such the sauces cannot be packed separately even for takeaways. Because it is so well-tossed, each ingredient is covered evenly with their housemade salad dressings.

I also noticed that each ingredient is finely chopped into bite-size pieces so you don’t have to stretch your mouth open to fit in a huge piece of lettuce or cucumber. And more importantly, their Japanese-style salads are packed with umami-ness as they used Japanese ingredients like seaweed, tempura crumbs, sesame sauce and wasabi. This medley of ingredients, combined with their hand-tossing techniques, make their salads really delicious and satisfying.

You can’t go wrong with their Signature Salads

You can customise your salads by choosing the type of base, greens, dressings, protein, scoops, drizzles and crunches. Because they are so many options to think about, I prefer to just order one of their signature salads. There’s a meatless option too.

The prices of their salads range from $12.80 to $16.80. I would say its reasonably-priced as most of the salads cost between $12 to $15 in today’s economy.

Chilli Changa Salmon ($16.80)

They torched the salmon to perfection so it is slightly crisp on the outside and it paired so well with the wasabi ricotta drizzle. It’s even better if you add their housemade chilli sauce as an additional topping. I like that the fact that you can taste some crunch in the salad.

Ingredients: Beetroot, Crisp Coral, Kale, Golden Beets, Purple Cabbage, Grilled Salmon Steak, Crispy Shallots, Wasabi Peas, Seaweed Salad, Spicy Sesame, Wasabi Ricotta Drizzle, Nori Purple Rice

Nusa Spiced Beef ($16.80)

Their pulled beef bowl is also equally tasty in its own way. It has alot more pulled beef in it so you can bite into some meat with every spoonful of salad.

Ingredients: Kale, Buffalo Roasted Cauliflower, Purple Onion, Panko Broccoli, Crispy Shallots, Barbecue Pulled Beef, Wasabi Peas, Spicy Cashew, Habanero Hot Sauce, Nori Purple Rice

Our Verdict

Six Hands Salad Review Deenise Glitz

I haven’t had great salads for a really long time and this spot hands down beat a lot of other popular salad spots like The Daily Cut and Stuff’d. This salad spot is worth checking and if you want to avoid the crowd, do head over on Saturdays instead.
