[Review] Donna Beauty's new BES Facial Therapy

I was invited by Donna Beauty to review their latest facial treatment called BES Facial Therapy.

Donna Beauty is a local beauty salon in Singapore offers beauty treatments that encompasses Eastern Traditional Chinese Medicine Wellness, knowledge and techniques with Western Technologies. You can do facials, body, slimming and hair reduction treatments at any of their 4 outlets in Singapore.

I visited their outlet at Ang Mo Kio Hub which is located on B1. The interior looks clean and modern. The salon itself is quite spacious and they have several treatment rooms. After registering at the counter, I was asked to ushered to a waiting area as they needed some time to prepare the treatment room.

Their treatment room is cosy and dimly-lit, with soft music played at the background. There is a cabinet where you can hang your clothes and store your bags.

What do expect during the BES Facial Treatment?

BES Facial Therapy is one of their advanced facial therapies which combine modern science with traditional Chinese meridian theory. It uses biological waves that match the body’s natural frequencies to quickly open facial meridians, enhance Qi and blood flow, and improve overall skin health and vitality. It sounds. At this point, it sounds like a relaxing facial treatment but there are more benifits to this treatment.

What are the steps involved?

This treatment lasted about an hour long. It encompasses all the basic facial steps like cleansing and the only difference is the use of their machine which utilize bio-frequencies to interact with the body’s natural energy systems, potentially influencing meridian flow and acupoint stimulation.

The facial started with a double cleansing step followed by the use of facial scrub to remove dead skin cells. Then, their therapist placed a sheet mask over my skin. She said that the mask will help to soften the skin so that she can carry out the extraction step. She did extraction on my nose area and moved on to the next step. I wish each facial step could be more thorough so that the whole experience could be a little more enjoyable.

Next, she applied some cream onto my face and started using the device on my skin, starting from the neck area. The device emits some kind of bio-electromagnetic waves which causes the facial muscles to vibrate and twitch a little. Initially, the currents were quite strong and my facial muscles felt a little sore so I asked the staff to lower its strength. It felt so much better and at this point, my facial muscles felt a lot more relaxed. This step takes about 10 minutes.

After this step, another therapist came and she did facial massage and mask for me. The facial massage was great and I almost fell into deep sleep.

Overall, it is a rather relaxing and non-invasive facial treatment which is suitable for most skin types. To me, it felt more like an anti-aging facial treatment as it really helps to lift the facial muscles and stimulate collagen production in the deeper tissue layers.
