Seafood Island

The cold seafood section was a refreshing start to the meal, with fresh oysters and sweet, juicy lobster meat that stood out. The scallops may not be as fresh and hence lacking the slightly sweet taste of fresh seafood. There were lemon wedges and sauces like sriracha to go along with the cold seafood.

Agnella Alla Lucana Basilicata Style Lamb Stew

From the Italian section, the Agnella Alla Lucana is an intriguing dish featuring tender lamb simmered in a creamy, flavourful jus. The lamb’s mild taste makes it approachable even for those who are not usually fans of gamey meats.

Ciambotta Italian Summer Vegetable Stew

We finally got to try Ciambotta — that ratatouille-style dish from the movie, and it didn’t disappoint. The tangy sweetness of the tomato-based stew paired nicely with the tender meat, and the subtle hint of cucumber gave it a refreshing lift that made the medley of vegetables surprisingly enjoyable.

Roasted Cauliflower

The Roasted Cauliflower was a pretty standard but well-executed dish — nicely roasted with a slight crunch. A sprinkle of spices on top added just enough flavour to keep it interesting without overpowering the natural taste of the cauliflower.

Pastas

One of the highlights at Peppermint is the freshly made pasta station, where you can simply let the chef know which pasta you’d like to try. Each serving comes in a small portion, perfect for sampling different dishes without feeling too full.

Crab Ravioli

The Crab Ravioli is definitely a must-try if it is available during your visit. Part of the rotating pasta menu, this luxurious dish features freshly made ravioli, soft and delicate, stuffed with generous shreds of subtly sweet crab meat balanced with a light saltiness. It is served with tender chickpeas that add a tangy twist, making each bite both comforting and flavourful. As this pasta is not available every day, do call ahead to check if it will be on the menu when you dine.

Orecchiete Alla Norma

Peppermint Southern PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Italian and Mediterranean Specialities Buffet

The Orecchiette Alla Norma stood out with its chewy, al dente texture and unique pasta shape that held the sauce beautifully. The tomato-based sauce was tangy with just a hint of sweetness, giving the dish a bright and slightly zesty flavour profile.

Seafood Risotto

The Seafood Risotto had a soft, comforting texture. With a creamy tomato-like base, each small portion was sweet, tangy, and slightly sour, with subtle seafood umami and little prawns tucked within.

Fresh Pasta Alla Bava

The Fresh Pasta Alla Bava was al dente with a smooth, slightly creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy, carrying a gentle hint of truffle fragrance, which added a touch of indulgence to this simple dish.

Desserts

Conclude your Italian-themed dining experience with some classic Italian dishes like Tiramisu Gateau, Delizia al Limone and Apple Crostata with Toffee Sauce. For a refreshing finish, you can indulge in their homemade Lemon Gelato, complemented by Lemon-infused Urban Farm Herb Oil and Sea Salt.

Tiramisu Gateau

The Tiramisu Gateau featured light, fluffy cream, though the sponge base was a tad too moist for us.

Our Verdict

Peppermint exudes calm, airy vibes with its spacious layout and large tables. The open kitchen concept adds a lively touch, letting you watch as dishes are freshly prepared before your eyes. Though the buffet area is not massive, it is thoughtfully laid out with well-organised sections featuring a variety of cuisines — ranging from Indian, Japanese, and local delights to fresh seafood, salads, cheese, and of course, the seasonal Italian spread. It is definitely enough to keep you satisfied without feeling overwhelmed. Highlights from this seasonal menu for us are the Puglia Lamb Cutturiedde (Lamb Stew) and various types of pastas.

While Peppermint’s buffet leans on the pricier side, it is worth it for the quality of ingredients and the thoughtful execution behind each dish. As a halal-certified buffet in a convenient location at Marina Bay, it is an easy and reliable pick for gatherings with friends or colleagues.

Peppermint is a farm-to-table restaurant and they are committed to using sustainably sourced ingredients, including fresh vegetables from their Urban Farm. Some of the fresh produce is harvested and used in the kitchen. Just be sure to visit the garden before sunset, as it gets quite dim at night and you might miss out on the little details.

*Peppermint’s buffet stations and kitchen are halal-certified. Do note that the spread featured in this post is their buffet dinner.
