The snaking queues at Casa Vostra have not stopped since they first officially open a year ago. Since they don’t take reservations, you will have to walk-in and wait for a table. So what made them so popular? Is it simply because of its strategic location as it is just right outside of City Hall MRT station?
Casa Vostra’s Wallet-friendly Menu of Unpretentious Italian Cuisine
This popular pizzeria is by Singapore’s top Pizza Maestro, Chef Antonio Mischellaneo. He is also the brainchild of La Bottega Enoteca in Joo Chiat.
He started Casa Vostra as a takeaway and delivery concept in 2023 and a year ago, he decided to open a full-service restaurant serving gourmet pizzas and home-style Italian dishes. He and his team have come a long way and I still remembered received Casa Vostra pizza takeaways 2 years ago. All I can say is that their hardwork has paid off because there’s a remarkable improvement in their pizzas.
The pizzas at Casa Vostra is more affordable than other Italian restaurants or pizza specalty restaurants. You can get a decent gourmet pizza for around 20 bucks which can be shared among 2 to 3 pax. And they don’t scrimp on the ingredients. You can tell that they use quality fresh ingredients for their pizzas on your very first bite. Raw and unprocessed fresh Ingredients that will truly shine on its own.
Vegetables and cheeses are from Italy while other basic ingredients are all made in house. They make their own fresh pastas and signature pizza doughs in the kitchen. They even aged their own salami. Alot of love and labour is put into Casa Vostra’s pizzas and that is what make diners kept coming back.
Freshly-baked Pizzas at Casa Vostro

The restaurant has a semi-open kitchen where diners seated at the bar counter can observe the pizza tossing and pasta making process.
Their pizzas are made fresh daily using Italian flours and are fermented in a traditional way for over 48 hours. It is then baked at 500 degree celsius to achieve that airy and puffy pizza crust.
The interior

If you walk right into the restaurant, there’s actually another bar counter where the drinks are prepared. Their drink menu is also pretty extensive. They offer house-made drinks, Italian beer, cocktails, cocktails and wine.

There’s also a water refill stand where you can help yourself to some filtered water.

What’s on their menu?
Their menu is quite extensive. They offer antipasti, salads, pizzas, pastas and desserts. Chef Antonio also recently launch 10 new items across the various categories. He also introduced his childhood dish, Mamma’s Aglio e Olio, a pasta dish which is inspired by the way his mum makes it for him.
Mother’s Day Promotion: From 9 to 11 May 2025, bring your mum for a meal and be treated to a complimentary Mamma’s Aglio e Olio on the house. It is limited to 1 redemption per table.
Prosciutto e Figura ($26) (New!)

For pizzas, they offer three varieties – NEWPOLITAN® RED, NEWPOLITAN® WHITE and DOUBLECRUNCH. The prices of their pizzas range from $15++ to $28++.
I tried their Prosciutto e Figura ($26) which is under the NEWPOLITAN® WHITE, a white sauce wonder. It is topped a sweet-and savoury combination of Parma Ham, fig puree, rocket leaves, Parmigiano Reggiano, candied walnuts and Fiordilatte. It’s a party in my mouth and I can’t deny the fact that the pizza is well-executed. I could taste the savoury Parma Ham and the sweet fig puree which complement so well with the other ingredients.
The pizza dough is swiftly cooked in an oven under high temperatures to achieve that trademark charred bubbling crust which is soft and chewy on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside.

The pizza is sliced into 6 pieces and because the base is rather thin, so you can actually have the whole pizza to yourself if you are consuming any other dishes.
Crab, Tagliatelle ($26)

This is actually one of their popular pasta dishes which comprises of Crab, Tomato Confit, Garlic, Basil, Olive Oil and Butter. Personally, the pasta is too al dente for me as I personally prefer it to be slightly softer and cooked. The crab meat did not really gel well with the other ingredients for me as well.
Flan de Zucca ($12)

This is another new dish on the menu. It is a pumpkin flan, a traditional dish from Mantua, a city in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. It comprises of sweet roasted pumpkin, Parmigiano Reggiano fondue, salt-cured guancile and a splash of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The highlight of this dish is probably their salt-cured guanciale which is really flavourful.
Coppa al Cioccolato ($11)

To end of the meal, I tried their new dessert. It is a luscious layered treat which is made with 72% dark chocolate gelato, cream, rum and hazelnut crumble. It’s a decent sweet ice cream treat to have a hot day.
Our Verdict

I would love to come back again for their pizzas which is what they are good at and specialised in. But is truly worth the queue? I would say yes. And I would dive right into their pizzas. Hopefully, they would open another outlet in Singapore soon as this would help ease the queue.
The service is generally quite swift. The pizza arrived pretty quickly. They have probably taken some time to iron out all the kinks to ensure that things go smoothly as they have been operating for some time already.
