The Cold Seafood Room

Be sure to fill your plates with some fresh seafood at the Cold Seafood Room first. You can enjoy a range of fresh seafood which includes Japanese Murotsu Oysters, Snow Crab Legs, White Clams, Black Mussels, Crawfish and more. Boston Lobster Claws are only available during Weekend Lunch and Dinner buffet) and Half Boston Lobsters are available on Friday and Saturday buffet dinner.

Jazz up the fresh seafood with their array of homemade sauces which includes Garden Mint-Mango Mignonette or mint leaves which are harvested from JW Garden.
Here, you can find fresh seafood on ice, assorted salads, cured meat, sushi and sashimi. While the spread isn’t overly extensive for the lunch buffet, the ingredients are fresh and well-prepared.

The Japanese Murotsu Oysters were fresh, plump, and clean-tasting – perfect with just a squeeze of lemon. You can also enjoy them with other sauces like Garden Mint–Mango Mignonette, Cocktail sauce, Mignonette and even Wasabi Aioli.

The Snow Crab Legs were incredibly sweet and fresh, with a natural brininess that stood out. The shell was easy to peel, making it one of the most satisfying picks at the Cold Seafood Room.

Salad Bar

Apart from the salads found in the cold seafood corner, there’s a vibrant salad station where you can pick your own greens and sauces from an impressive display. You can even snip fresh micro-greens yourself for that extra touch of freshness.
It includes Mesclun Mixed Greens, Green Coral, Romaine, Baby Spinach, Wild Rocket, Radicchio and more. Salad Dressings include Balsamic Dressing, Thousand Island, Caesar Dressing, Italian Dressing, Selection of Oils and Vinegars.
Grilled Meat & Seafood section

If the seafood from the cold corner is not enough to satisfy you, fret not. At the other end of the buffet you will see scallops and chicken satays grilled on the spot for you.
The Grilled Canadian Scallop with Homemade Garlic Butter was juicy, warm, and beautifully bouncy – each bite bursting with flavour. It might just be our favourite dish from the entire spread. It is only available for Weekend Lunch Buffet and Dinner Buffet.

The Prawn Bisque Soup was rich, creamy, and packed with umami – comforting and full of depth.

Additionally, available exclusively during the weekend lunch buffet, the fresh oyster omelettes are cooked to a golden crisp and served hot off the pan.

International Specialty Hot Stations

The oven-baked pizzas were freshly made with a crisp crust, featuring flavours like Al Fungi Truffle and the classic Margherita. You can try their signature Truffle Pizza, Barbecue Chicken Pizza (available for Weekend Lunch Buffet and Dinner Buffet) or Tangy Marinara Pizza with Garden Basil.
Meat lovers can get their fill here with the Roasted Beef Striploin and Pork Knuckle, both as delicious as it looks.’

Pork Knuckle
Asian Delights Hot Station

The Asian spread offers local favourites like Seafood Otah and Fragrant Blue Pea Flower Coconut Rice. And if you’re still craving more seafood, Singapore’s signature chilli crab makes an appearance, complete with golden fried mantou.

At the live cooking station, you can watch the chef prepare a bowl of laksa right before your eyes – piping hot and tailored to your preferences.
Walk-in Dessert Room

This dessert station is like a walk-in wardrobe where the desserts are placed in glass cabinets. You can find a variety of desserts which includes Basque Cheesecake, Pandan Durian Cake, a cascading Chocolate Fountain, cakes, local kuehs, gelatos and sorbets.

The dessert section offers a wide variety that’s bound to please any sweet tooth. Traditional kuehs, cakes, creamy mousse and puddings are kept neatly in a cold cabinet, ensuring they remain fresh and cold until the end of your meal.

There’s plenty more to explore, with egg tarts and oolong tea crème brûlée made at the dessert counter, alongside a selection of ice cream and chocolate fountain. You will definitely be spoilt for choice here!

Verdict

Overall, Beach Road Kitchen offers quite a spread of seafood and other Asian delights. The seafood buffet experience is truly one of a kind. We went for the Weekend lunch buffet, which had a smaller spread compared to dinner – so the dinner buffet might be more worth it if you’re looking for more variety.
That said, the seafood here is fresh, but do note that items in the cold seafood room were not topped up towards the end of the buffet, so it is best to take your pick early. Service is acceptable and the plates were cleared once we are done with it.
