Keming Bing Sat (克茗冰室), the award-winning Cha Chaan Teng brand from Hong Kong with over 140 outlets across Asia, now has an outlet here in Singapore. They are known for their Char Siew Rice and Ice Bear Drinks.

Known for elevating Hong Kong-style comfort food with a modern twist, this eatery is all about nostalgic flavours done right—think roasted char siew, silky milk tea pulled to perfection, and wok-kissed rice dishes served with flair.
Helming the kitchen is the original culinary team behind the flagship in Hong Kong, ensuring the authenticity (and queue-worthy flavour) stays intact. Keming Bing Sat was also awarded No. 1 Best-Selling Char Siew Rice in China (based on sales from April 2024 to March 2025) by Frost & Sullivan. After knowing that 3.3 million Char Siew rice plates are sold in just one year, how could we not check it out?
Location

Located in a super accessible central spot at Plaza Singupara (nearest MRT station: Dhoby Ghaut), this new outpost offers the same crowd-pleasing signatures that made it a hit across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, and beyond.
Keming Bing Sat’s Interior

The new-age Hong Kong-style Cha Chaan Teng is quite intimate without feeling cramped, making it a great spot for anything from casual brunches to unhurried evening meals. The overall aesthetic blends vintage Cha Chaan Teng nostalgia with a clean, updated finish that feels both familiar and fresh.

If you like your food extra spicy, there’s even a self-help sauce counter where you can help yourself to chili oil and sliced chili padi—perfect for dialling up the heat.
Dishes we’ve tried at Keming Bing Sat
Signature Snack Platter – 招牌小吃拼盘 ($8.80)

This snack platter serves up four different bites in one go—perfect for sharing or if you just want to try a bit of everything. The Signature Chee Cheong Fun stood out with its soft, chewy texture, coated in a rich peanut sauce and topped with sesame seeds—super satisfying. The Garlic Chicken Wing Tips were coated in a sauce with chilli padi, giving them a nice, fiery kick. The Curry Fish Balls and Thai Style Shrimp Rolls came with a sweet and mildly spicy Thai chilli sauce; both were decent, though nothing particularly standout. Overall, a fun and varied combo to start the meal.
Keming Bing Sat’s Char Siew Rice – 黯然销魂饭 ($10.90)

This signature char siew rice is made using secret techniques from a Hong Kong roast master with over 40 years of experience. You’ll get thick cuts of freshly roasted char siew that are nicely balanced—fatty and meaty in just the right ratio, with a shiny, caramelised glaze that’s super flavourful. It comes with two soft-fried eggs and Wuchang rice, topped off with a special house-made sauce made from 23 ingredients like lemongrass, onion, and pork lard.
However, we felt that the rice was on the drier and hard and there wasn’t quite enough sauce to bring everything together, so the rice felt a little plain overall. That said, the char siew itself was flavourful enough to carry the dish. It’s one of those meals that looks simple but still delivers, especially if you’re here for the meat. The portion size is good for one.
Scallion Oil Chicken Chop Rice On Hot Plate – 葱油铁板鸡扒煎蛋饭 ($13.90)

The grilled chicken chop came sizzling hot, with a crispy skin and tender meat that hit the spot. It’s served with a generous drizzle of scallion oil, which added a nice savoury punch to every bite. On top of the rice sits a sunny side up egg, which brings everything together. Like the Char Siew Rice, the rice itself was a little hard and dry but the scallion oil really helped boost the flavour. It’s a hearty kind of dish that works if you’re craving something comforting and filling. The portion size is good for one.
Happiness Lava Egg Waffles – 快乐爆浆鸡蛋仔 ($3.80/2pcs | $6.90/4pcs)

You have to eat this one while it’s hot—trust us. The egg waffle, with its soft, buttery texture and perfectly golden, spherical bubbles, brings serious nostalgic vibes, like a childhood snack but leveled up.
Each bite is filled with rich, eggy flavour and a surprise melty cream cheese centre that adds a hit of savoury umami. It’s comforting, indulgent, and incredibly moreish. Plus, if you’re on the go, there’s a takeaway counter right out front—perfect for grabbing one fresh off the press.
Lava Ovaltine Toast – 泥石流爆奶华 ($7.90)

This is toast overflowing with a rich blend of milk, condensed milk, and whipped cream, topped with a generous sprinkle of Oreo cookie crumble. This toast is soft on the inside with a light, crispy crust. It’s filled with a sweet, creamy layer and topped with crushed Oreos for that extra crunch and chocolatey bite. This is a pretty solid dessert after eating all the savoury dishes.
Ice Bear Drink Series
Apparently, they are the first to start the Ice Bear Drinks which went viral back in 2019. Each drink is topped with a cute Ice Bear. Let’s see if their drinks live up to the hype.
Little Bear Iced Hong Kong Milk Tea – 小熊冰冰港式奶茶 ($4.90)

This milk tea comes topped with an adorable teddy bear, making it as cute as it is eye-catching. The tea itself has a strong flavour, similar to what you’d get in a traditional Hong Kong-style milk tea. It was a bit too sweet for our liking, but fans with a sweet tooth will definitely enjoy this drink. Best enjoyed once the ice melts a little to tone down the sweetness.
Little Bear Iced Lemon Tea – 小熊冻柠茶 ($4.90)(Jumbo sized)

A cute little bear sits on top of this refreshing jumbo-sized lemon tea. The lemon flavour is bold and zesty, giving the drink a strong citrus kick that instantly wakes up your palate. It’s light, tangy, and super refreshing—especially great for cutting through the richer, savoury dishes on the menu.
Verdict

Keming Bing Sat definitely nails the aesthetic—from the cute bear-topped drinks to the nostalgic HK-style vibe, it’s a fun spot that looks great on the ’gram. Located at Plaza Singapura, it’s easy to get to, and prices are fairly reasonable for a themed eatery in town. Some dishes, like the Char Siew from the Char Siew Rice and the Happiness Lava Egg Waffles, were highlights, while others are more average.
Would we head back to Keming Bing Sat? Maybe not right away, but we’d consider it for a casual meal or if I’m nearby. If you’re visiting for the first time, go for the Char Siew Rice and Happiness Lava Egg Waffles, and don’t miss the cute bear drinks for the photo op. It’s worth checking out at least once for the experience.
