Planning to visit USS For The Newly Opened Minion Land? Here’s What You Should Know

Universal Studios Singapore (USS) just launched its latest themed zone Minion Land this year. It is designed and built by Universal Creative, in partnership with Illumination and Resort World Sentosa. There is an exclusive ride (available only in Singapore) called the Buggie Boogie, which is the world’s first Minion dance-party carousel. So even if you have been to the Minion Land at Universal Studios Beijing, it might still be worth checking out Singapore’s version of Minion Land. And if you’ve ever wanted to step straight into the Despicable Me movies, this brightly-coloured playground is basically that, but with more popcorn, thrilling rides and cute merch.

Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

I dropped by to see if it’s worth squeezing into your next Sentosa day out at Universal Studios Singapore. While I did appreciate how colourful and vibrant Minion Land was, it was actually smaller than I imagined as I could see the start and end of the whole area at once. Still, if you’ve got kids or just love the Minions, you’ll definitely enjoy being in Minion Land to take pictures and shop for their exclusive merch. Do note that Minion Land is included in your USS ticket – at no extra cost.

There are three immersive themed areas: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighbourhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.

The Food : What to Eat at Minion Land

There are three food spots within Minion Land where you can get snacks, ice cream and mains here. Do note that all these eateries are non-halal certified.

Super Hungry Food Stand

Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

At Super Hungry Food Stand, you get to grab Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage, Fluffy’s Rainbow Cheesecake, and the Super Silly Veggie Burger here. You can find other local‑inspired eats like chilli‑crab mantou. Portions are decent, and prices range around $19 to $20 for mains and $14 to $15 for desserts. View the full menu here.

    Pop-A-Nana

    Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

Stop by for a snack at Pop-A-Nana, where you can treat yourself to Minion-inspired popcorn in sweet or savory flavors. The popcorn ($10) is served in collectible Minion buckets that can blink when you press their hands. It’s a fun snack and doubles as a souvenir. There are two flavours to choose from: Salted popcorn or Banana-flavoured popcorn.

Below is a photo of the food items (with prices) available at this popcorn stand. Do note that the weather in Singapore can get really warm so you can either refill your bottles at the water cooler or get drinks from this popcorn stand.

    Ice Cream Stand

The Ice Cream Stand offers exclusive treats like the Stuart’s Swirly Slushie ($12) and Minion Land Raspberry Ice Cream ($9).

    Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa!

At Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa, you’ll test your aim by launching Minion’s favourite fruit – bananas into baskets.

    Space Killer

Space Killer on the other hand is a classic shooting game where you use a blaster to launch balls at a stack of cans, aiming to knock down the entire tower to win a plushie prize ($8/blast).

Merch : The Cutest Minion Merch to Buy

    Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

The Minion Marketplace is a must-stop before you leave, offering plenty of Minion-themed goodies to bring home. There are 3 stores at the marketplace. Look out for limited edition – My Sakura Collection, Space Killer vinyls, 3D mugs, bucket hats, puzzle keychains and more.

    Sweet Surrender

At Sweet Surrender, you’ll find a candy-themed section topped with a giant jawbreaker machine, filled with plush toys, homeware, and Minion snacks.

Rides : Are they fun, thrilling or Kiddy?

    Buggie Boogie

Kids will have fun on this Minion-themed carousel, which spins along to remixed pop songs with a playful twist. It’s a short, chill ride perfect for younger visitors or if you’re looking to rest your feet.

      Minion Mayhem

      Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

Think of it like the Transformers ride at USS, but instead of sitting in a moving cart, you’re in a theatre room with everyone experiencing the action together. This immersive motion simulator turns you into a Minion for the day, taking you on a chaotic journey through Gru’s secret lab.

      Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

The ride itself has light aerial drops and water sprays, making it more exciting than the other rides here. It was my favourite in Minion Land, and while those prone to motion sickness should take caution, it’s the one ride here that feels worth queueing for.

      Silly Swirly

      Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

Hop into colourful buggies and gently spin into the sky on this breezy ride. It’s cute and gives a nice view of Minion Land, but it’s quite short, so honestly it’s not really worth a long wait unless you’re here with young kids or looking for something easy-going.

      Shows & Meet & Greets

There will be shows and meet and greets throughout the day at Minion Land. It’s not just Minions you’ll spot while walking around Minion Land. Throughout the day, characters like Gru, Lucy, and the sisters Margo, Edith, and Agnes appear for meet-and-greet photo opportunities. You can also catch Minute of Minion Mayhem, a short dance performance where the Minions and the crew put on a lively street show that visitors can join in on. Look out for stilt walkers dressed as evil Minions and crew members with harmless fart blasters adding to the fun. If you want photos with the characters, have your phone ready and join the queue when you see them out.

Final thoughts : Did I Enjoy My Time There?

      Universal Studios Singapore Minion Land

Minion Land might not offer high-thrill rides, but it delivers a colourful, immersive extension to USS that’s perfect for family days out and Minion fans looking for adorable photo spots and playful vibes.

Do note that wait times can be long, especially in the morning as many first-time visitors flock here, so it’s worth exploring other attractions first and returning later in the day when queues are shorter.

Personally, I can see why people will enjoy it – it’s vibrant, the area is alive with music blasting from the speakers, and it genuinely lifts the mood as you walk through. However, if you’re someone who prefers more adrenaline-pumping rides, you might find Minion Land a bit underwhelming. Do allocate around 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the rides, carnival games, and try out the food here.
