Café Kitsuné opens Second Outlet at Jewel Changi Airport with a new brunch menu – Here’s What We Tried

We first heard about Paris-meets-Tokyo coffee lifestyle brand Café Kitsuné when their first outlet opened at Capitol Singapore. It quickly became popular for its aesthetic and unique blend of French-Japanese café culture. So when we found out they opened a second outlet at Jewel Changi Airport, we were excited to check it out, especially since this one comes with an exclusive brunch menu and Jewel-exclusive merchandise.

Café Kitsuné isn’t just a restaurant, but more of a lifestyle café concept. It is a sister brand of multi-faceted Paris-meets-Tokyo brand, Maison Kitsuné. It’s known for its specialty coffee (like espresso drinks and matcha lattes), light pastries, and its clean, modern aesthetic that mixes Japanese minimalism with a Parisian café vibe.

The new café is located inside Jewel Changi Airport, right next to Coach on Level 1. The space is small but cosy, with wood furniture, patterned chairs, and a neat little section for merchandise. The vibe is quiet and chill, good for a quick coffee break or a casual catch-up.

Spanning 99 square metres with seating for up to 31 guests, the space features a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese design.

Café Kitsuné Merchandise

Apart from food and drinks, Café Kitsuné also has a small but well-curated merch section in-store. They sell branded items like coffee mug($50), tumblers ($55), tote bags ($60), and T-shirts. What’s special about the Singapore outlet is the exclusive design featuring our national flower, the orchid, something you won’t find in other countries.

Whether you’re a fan of the brand or just want a stylish souvenir, it’s worth browsing through. The merch fits the same clean and minimal aesthetic as the café, which makes it great for gifting too.

What We Tried: Drinks, Light Food & Brunch

Available daily from 9AM to 5PM, the café’s brunch offerings include a delicious mix of sweet and savoury favourites such as: Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Avocado Toast, French Toast, and more brunch classics.

Sparking Grapefruit Espresso (left) & Jasmine Grapefruit with Sea Salt Foam (right)

Both of these drinks we tried are seasonal and exclusive to Jewel Changi outlet only.

Sparkling Grapefruit Espresso ($8)

This tastes very similar to Luckin Coffee’s Grape Fizzy Americano but slightly better in terms of flavours. The coffee isn’t too strong, which may or may not be your thing, but personally I liked how the grapefruit and espresso balanced each other out. This is a refreshing drink that was pretty addictive.

Jasmine Grapefruit with Sea Salt Foam ($8)

This was refreshing and surprisingly addictive. The sea salt foam was very light and added just the right amount of saltiness to the sweet Jasmine Grapefruit. It’s a great drink if you want something that’s not too heavy and thirst-quenching to go with your food.

Egg Mayonnaise Sando ($13)

This sando had a comforting and satisfying bite. The Japanese milk bread had a slightly crispy exterior with a soft, fluffy interior, definitely best eaten while it’s hot. Inside, the Japanese mayonnaise mixed with mustard gave the egg filling a rich, creamy texture. What made it even better was the addition of a soft-boiled soy egg, which added more depth and made the sandwich feel heartier and more complete.

Salmon Egg Benedict ($18)

This dish can only be found at the Jewel outlet. The toast portion was a bit small, but overall, the flavours were solid. It came with poached eggs, sautéed spinach, smoked salmon, and a generous drizzle of hollandaise sauce. The rich hollandaise paired nicely with the runny yolk and salty smoked salmon, while the spinach added a soft, earthy touch. Everything worked well together, but a larger piece of toast would’ve made it easier to enjoy all the elements in one bite.

Pandan Coconut Entremet ($13.50)

This is a seasonal dessert as well. The crust tasted like a cheesecake base which was flavourful but we found it slightly dry. Luckily, the pandan coconut cream helped balance it out as it was quite light and fluffy. The cream portion was generous and tasty, but could get rich and overwhelming for your tastebuds if you’re eating the whole dessert on your own. The pandan taste was definitely stronger than coconut. We like that they also added a matcha biscuit on top of the cream for the extra aesthetic and taste.

Café Kitsuné Singapore Fox Shortbread ($4)

“Maison” is the French word for “house, and “Kitsuné” is the Japanese word for “fox”, a symbol of versatility. The Fox has been Maison Kitsuné’s iconic animal symbol. And over here, you can enjoy a fox-shaped cookie.

This cookies comes in 3 different flavours – original, matcha and chocolate. We got to try the original one but honestly, there was nothing special about it, just a basic butter cookie in a fox shape. Probably not worth the price unless you’re buying it for the aesthetic or as a souvenir.

Final Thoughts

We’d definitely come back for a casual brunch or to try other items on the menu. My top picks are the Jasmine Grapefruit with Sea Salt Foam and the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Prices are fair for the quality and location. The space isn’t very big, so it’s more suited for couples or small groups than families. Tables are small and it can probably accomodate 2 to 3 pax.

If you’re looking for a stylish, peaceful spot to grab a coffee or light meal, Café Kitsuné at Jewel Changi is worth a visit. Plus, the exclusive merch with orchid designs makes a nice gift or souvenir. It is located next to Arabica.
