Painting Manic is a creative workshop space where you can paint and customise 3D figurines, Bearbrick models, and other crafts. It is probably one of the most affordable art jamming studios in Singapore where each art jamming activity only starts from $2.88. The prices started on their website are all nett.

The place is a little secluded as it is an industrial area. However, there’s a MRT station nearby within walking distance. it is only about a 10-min walk from Mattar MRT Station.

What are the art jamming activities available?

They have a la carte menu of art jamming activities which include BearBrick painting, Trinklet tray painting and more. Each of these art jamming activities start from $2.88. And the set paintings start from $10. Each set painting also includes snacks and drinks.

There’s also a basic and advance set which includes a few art jamming activities. The package also includes a free photobooth session, drinks and snacks. Such packages may be great for those who enjoy art jamming and plan to stay in the studio a little longer to create some art.

Advance Set for 2 pax ($28.88)

We tried the Advance Set for 2 pax at $28.88, which is a 1-hour session (though they let us continue if there’s no booking after ours). It also comes with two drinks from the fridge, goodie bags of snacks and a photo booth session with printed and digital copies of the photo. The Studio

The space itself is spacious enough for multiple groups, with black-covered tables, shelves of ready-to-paint figurines, and a separate area for the finished 3D Bearbrick pouring set.

3D Figurine Painting

You get to choose your figurines from their shelf of ready-made plaster figurines. Popular characters like SpongeBob, Patrick, Sanrio characters, and Spiderman were available.

I picked Patrick because it doubles as a figurine that also serves as a trinklet holder. I can store knick-knacks on the holder. You then select your paint colours, and collect your paintbrushes, palettes, water cups, and aprons. Just working on this alone already took us about 1 hour. Fortunately, the paint dries quickly, so you can take your creation home the same day in the provided paper bag.

23cm Bearbrick Pouring Set

For the Bearbrick Painting, you can choose 3 to 4 colours to mix in a cup. Simply place the Bearbrick on a provided plate, and pour the paint over it until it’s fully covered.

This piece stays at the studio to dry, and they later deliver it to your address. This one was definitely much simpler than the 3D Figurine Painting as you don’t really need to be creative with it or do much, you just mix and pour. But I must say it was quite satisfying to see the colours turn out so pretty on the bear. Each piece is unique as it is dependent on what colours you choose and how the paint flows down.

Standalone Painting Figurine

We realised that we missed out on the standalone painting figurines after leaving the studio so do remember to check that you are given everything in the set before leaving.

Photobooth Pictures

After a fun art jamming session with your buddy, you can snap photos together to capture this moment together. There are also some photo props which you can play with during the photo session. You can even take photos together with your artwork. Each of us get to keep a physical copy of the print. They also shared with us the digital copy of the photos.

Drinks and Snacks

Drinks and snacks are provided for the set which we chose. We can choose one drink each from their mini fridge. Each of us are even a packet of snacks to munch on during the art jamming session.

Verdict & Tips

For $28.88 for 2 pax, I think it’s really worth it — it was fun, therapeutic, and you leave with something you made yourself. However, finishing both activities in one hour can feel rushed, especially if you’re a detail-oriented painter.

I’d recommend wearing darker clothes because even with aprons, paint splatters can happen. Be prepared to get a bit messy, though luckily the toilet is just next to the studio in case any paint accidents occur.

This isn’t just about painting — it’s part art therapy, part souvenir-making, and part social activity, making it great for dates, friends’ hangouts, or even a relaxing solo afternoon. I would recommend this to couples, friends, or anyone looking for a hands-on activity in Singapore. Younger kids may join too, but they might need help with pouring techniques.
