Ever wondered how Singapore would look like in 2035? You can now get a glimpse of Singapore’s future at this new exhibition, Draft Master Plan 2025, at Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) building.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority has launched this free exhibition on Singapore’s urban masterplan. It showcases Singapore’s land use development blueprint for the next 10 to 15 years. As Singapore celebrates 60 years of independence (SG60), this exhibition also presents an important milestone in Singapore’s development as a city-state.
Draft Master Plan 2025 (DMP2025) Exhibition

Titled Draft Master Plan 2025 (DMP2025), the exhibition shares the transformations Singapore has undergone to become as accessible as it is today, presented through panels of maps and images. It also highlights the current renovations and future plans to create multi-functional hubs in every neighbourhood.
As a blueprint to guide Singapore’s urban development over the next 10 to 15 years, the masterplan translates long-term vision into detailed, practical strategies developed together with Singaporeans — carefully balancing present needs with future aspirations within our limited land.

This exhibition explores four themes: Shaping a Happy and Healthy City, Enabling Sustainable Growth, Stewarding Nature and Heritage, and Strengthening Urban Resilience.

You can also spot their neighbourhoods on the maps, discover local urban history, and learn about upcoming changes in the various neighbourhoods and areas in Singapore.

Hightlights of the Exhibition

Highlights of this exhibition include interactive games, dioramas, a Lego building section, and a free photobooth. These activities are suitable for all ages.
Interactive games

There are fun educational games designed for young children and families. You can get to learn more about the regions your living in through these interactive activiites. There’s also space to share feedback and suggest new facilities you would like to see in the future.
Island Wide Model diorama

A large-scale diorama that brings Singapore to life through a dynamic light show, spotlighting different areas and illustrating ongoing and upcoming urban transformations.

Lego building section

This is a creative corner where you can build your dream neighbourhoods out of Lego. Let your imaginations run wild and imagine new ways to shape Singapore’s future together.

Photobooth
At the end of the exhibition, you can snap a photo and indicate your region you are living in. These photos will then be displayed on a screen, showing how residents like you and I from across Singapore can come together as one community to create a beautiful city.

Verdict
In my experience, the main exhibition took about an hour to explore fully, with the Island Wide Model and Lego building segment being the highlights of my visit. I was fascinated by how the light show and animations brought the static model to life, and I enjoyed sitting down to build my dream neighbourhood using a wide variety of Lego pieces, including botanical themed ones.
What excites me most about the masterplan are the plans for more multi-functional hubs that let residents work, rest, and play all in one place, as well as the upcoming Cross Island Line and expanded park connectors that will make it easier to get around and enjoy Singapore’s green spaces.
In conclusion, DMP2025 definitely serves as a highly educational platform and a casual weekend family or date stop simultaneously. While the roving exhibition is a convenient way for viewing, visiting the URA building directly is highly recommended as it also hosts the only permanent nation planning exhibit in the Singapore City Gallery on the third floor, which complements the main exhibition nicely and gives an even deeper look at Singapore’s urban evolution.

Roving Exhibitions at your neighbourhood
