Hathaway, tucked inside Capital Tower (near Tanjong Pagar Exit F), has always been known for its beautiful space, modern-local concept and refined take on Southeast Asian flavours.
They have recently launched a 1-for-1 Weekend Buffet promotion (Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays) for DBS/POSB card holders. The usual price is $76++ per pax before discount. There’s also a weekend dinner buffet session priced at $96++ per pax. The buffet is inclusive of drinks like coffee, tea and juices.
Naturally, the deal gets attention. But is it worth going for?

Ambience & Concept

Hathaway was amazing for the aesthetics. The space is warm, modern, and cozy with elegant decor and a relaxed atmosphere that feels a little premium without being intimidating. There was a small weekend crowd but service was pretty good! Plates were cleared quickly, and the buffet stations were constantly refilled, which made the experience really smooth.
Buffet Spread – Small Selection, Local Delights

This isn’t the typical massive hotel buffet. It’s a smaller curated selection of their signature local dishes. Their savoury spread leans heavily on carbs and sides, with few meat options like steak and chicken skewers. The flavours were familiar and safe, but that also meant there was nothing particularly memorable.
Highlights
Hainanese Chicken Rice ⭐

Classic dish that can’t go wrong! Their chicken rice was served with a small portion of tender chicken and free-flow rice. The rice was really fragrant and their chilli packs a satisfying spicy kick.

Ribeye Steak

It looked promising but was tougher than expected and not very flavourful. This was one of the few options, so I was quite disappointed. The entrecôte sauce saved the dish and was really delicious.
Tempeh Orek

This vegetable dish was very flavorful and just slightly spicy and salty. It had that comforting, home-cooked taste — simple but satisfying.
Chicken Galae Skewers

Quite flavourful and chicken was tender and easy to eat! Could have been done with abit more seasoned though!
Red Snapper Sambal Kicap Manis
Next to the skewers is the Red Snapper Sambal Kicap Manis. The fish was nicely seasoned with a salty punch. The sambal kicap manis brought a salty, slightly sweet depth, though I wouldn’t have mind it being spicier. Overall, a well-balanced dish.
Potato Pave ⭐

Ten thin layers of perfectly seasoned potato packed into one golden cube. Crispy on the outside, soft within, and dangerously addictive. One of the most indulgent and enjoyable bites of the buffet.
Laksa ⭐

There’s also a laksa station where you can grab a bowl of noodles and fill it up with laksa broth. Noodles were just the right texture and served with chicken, prawns, crispy fish cracker and bean sprouts. Chilli was not too spicy and the soup was just the right consistency and so flavourful. A small comforting bowl, also another classic Singaporean dish that many can enjoy!
Kueh Pie Tee

The outer shell was really crispy but radish inside was overly salty, losing the dish’s usual balance.
Chicken Pine Nut Sausages

Lightly seasoned chicken sausage with a peppery kick and just a hint of pine nut aroma but not very distinctive.
Chorizo
On the same tray of sausages, there are also Chorizo. The chorizo was more flavourful than the Pine Nut sausages, thanks to its bold mix of spices, garlic, salt and pepper. It had a smoky, savoury kick with a hint of heat, and a slightly herby finish. If you enjoy deeper, richer flavours, this one stands out more.
Other dishes

Other dishes include cured salmon with rocket leaves and scrambled eggs. You can view the full buffet menu here. There are a total of 17 dishes and drinks like coffee and tea are inclusive of the buffet. So you do not have to top up for additional drinks. You can top up for free flow prosecco at $36++ per pax.

Overall, the savoury section feels safe but forgettable — the kind of food you eat but don’t think about again.

Dessert Section – The True Hero of the Buffet

One thing that Hathaway does right is their desserts. If you love traditional Singapore kuehs, you would love the spread here! This is where Hathaway shines.

Must-Try Desserts
Lemon Meringue & Chocolate Tart ⭐

The star of the buffet! Both tarts had the perfect crust, a bright citrus kick, and a light, not-too-sweet finish that made it way too easy to keep going back for more — I could honestly eat three. The chocolate tart was another win. It was rich, indulgent and super satisfying for chocolate lovers.
Strawberry Shortcake

Soft, fresh, and surprisingly well-balanced. A crowd favourite.
Kaya Croissant & Brioche

Flaky and buttery croissant with house-made kaya that isn’t overly sweet. The kaya paired really well with the pastry and added a nice local twist to a familiar pastry.
Kueh Kosui ⭐

A well-executed traditional Malay steamed cake made from rice flour and palm sugar with a hint of coconut. It’s soft, slightly chewy, sweet but not overpowering, and has a subtle earthy richness from the gula melaka.
Pulau Hitam (available upon request)
Warm, comforting with a natural sweetness from the gula melaka and a touch of coconut cream richness. It’s earthy, slightly nutty, and gently sticky in texture, simple but nostalgic.
If the savoury dishes were a warm-up, the dessert lineup was the encore that everyone stayed for!
Verdict

Hathaway’s weekend buffet offers chill vibes, great service, amazing desserts, and savoury local dishes. Go for a chill weekend brunch with friends, but lower your expectations as this isn’t a buffet that’s built to impress. But if you managed to score this buffet at a 1-for-1 deal, which costs around $38++ per pax, I would say it is quite a good deal.
Service was excellent. Even with a full crowd, the staff stayed friendly and efficient. Refills were fast, buffet tables were clean and organised, which is really nice for busy weekend buffets.
Would we go back? Probably not for the buffet, but we’d definitely return just for the desserts.
