Exploria is the latest attractions to open this March at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. It is one of Southeast Asia’s largest indoor, nature-themed multimedia attractions. You’ll get to experience environments and phenomena rarely accessible to humans – from prehistoric eras and extreme habitats, to microscopic ecosystems and the depths of ocean darkness. You will get to enter the immersive worlds where hidden systems of life come alive, from the tiniest insects to the forest canopy above.
It opens on 3 March 2026.
What to expect at Exploria?
There are 5 immersive zones to explore at this indoor nature-themed experience. You will be given an RFID wristband tag upon entering the Exploria. This new attraction is located right next to Curiosity Cove.
With the RFIP wristband tag, you can create a digital avatar, activate interactive installations and earn species badges as you engage with the responsive media features.
Each world also features Memory Hooks – photo stations that can be unlocked for guests to capture memorable moments from different angles.
5 immersive zones to explore
Entrance Tunnel
Upon entering the attraction, you will be walking along this tunnel with LED screens towering over you. You can tap your interactive wristband against the sensors to activate the interactive elements throughout Exploria.
Our Interconnected World
Your exploration journey will begin right at this hub where the 5 immersive zones are interconnected to each other – just like how the systems and different habitats on earth are interlinked with each other.
Right in the middle of the hub is this 4-metre tall LED globe (Biopool) or where the lights are projected on it. It gently pulses like a living heartbeat, symbolising the interconnectedness of humans and nature. Every movement in the hub sends visible pulses of light to the globe, which responds in real-time to the collective participation. This interaction reflection Exploria’s central idea that small individual actions can combine to create meaningful change.
Over there, you can customise your digital avatar and play some games to earn rewards on the numerous touch-screens too.
At certain timings throughout the day, there will be a 4-minute light and sound show at Our Interconnected World – The Planet Awakens. It ignites the space with synchronised projections, dynamic colours and rhythms that capture the energy and diversity of the five worlds that await. Don’t forget to catch the light show where you are there. There’s also a row of seats along the perimeter of the hub where you can sit to watch.
Micro Worlds
Take a peek into the unseen worlds of plankton, insect colonies, fungi and bacteria through the interactive glass orbs and projection domes. Discover how these tiny yet crucial organisms quietly sustain life on Earth.
Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers
You can find unique simulator rooms heres that mimic the harsh conditions of some extreme habitats like the desert and arctic.
Infinite Wonderland
The hanging foliage simulates the rainforest canopy at Infinite Wonderland’s Sounds of the Forest. You can walk amongst lush vegetation brought to life through the symphony of forest calls.
Come face-to-face with Mesozoic dinosaurs and colossal sea creatures that once ruled the Earth at this world.
The highlight of this world is The Giants Show. It is an 8-minute, 360-degree standing theatre experience. You will be surrounded by visuals, light, sound and motion – as if you are right there journeying with the prehistoric creatures. There are occasional fine mist sprays at certain intervals throughout the show.
World of Darkness
Uncovers the secrets of life without light in caves and the deep ocean and the remarkable adaptations of species such as the bioluminescent vampire squids, eyeless yeti crabs and blind cave fish.
Blind boxes created in collaboration with Mighty Jaxx feature species inspired by Exploria, from Bengal tigers in Infinite Wonderland to tardigrade from Micro Worlds. You can purchase them from the souvenir shop at Exploria.
Verdict
Exploria welcome visitors of all ages, with a focus on engaging teenagers and young adults. I guess that explains why this space has a strong educational angle than anything else. The exhibits and interactive elements would entice kids and young adults in general but less so for grown-ups. The extreme habits and sensory attractions provide a glimpse of the world out and piques interests in students.
All in all, the most impressive part of the experience for me is probably the Giants Show. The various interactive elements like the light, mist, sound and visuals are quite refreshing. But other than that, it is just another digital indoor attraction to me.
Getting There
Exploria is located right next to Curiosity Cove at Mandai Wildlife EAST where the Singapore Zoo is. If you are taking the shuttle bus from Khatib MRT station, remember to alight at the last stop which is the transport hub.
