I have tried and done reviews of several non-invasive aesthetic treatments in Singapore but I have not gone overseas before to do it until recently. I went to Aura Bangkok Clinic to try out their aesthetic treatments in Bangkok. They are a well-established aesthetic clinic in Thailand with multiple branches across Bangkok. And you would have been quite a number of influencers who have reviewed their treatment before. I knew I had to try it for myself to find out if it is really worth travelling abroad to another country for aesthetic treatments.
About Aura Bangkok Clinic

Aura Bangkok Clinic is a leading clinic trusted by both local and international clients in Thailand. It was established in 2014 and currently it has 18 branches across Bangkok. They have a skilled medical team of doctors who specialises in a wide range of aesthetic treatments.
I visited one of their branch in Asok at Exchange Tower Building which is near Terminal 21 shopping mall and BTS Asok MRT station. It was rather convenient for me to get there via train directly from the airport. I actually did a day-trip to Bangkok for this treatment and flew back after running all the errands in Bangkok.
Aesthetic Treatments at Aura Bangkok Clinic

They offer quite a number of facial aesthetics treatments which includes:
- Botox and dermal fillers
- Skin boosters and mesotherapy
- Ultherapy and Ultraformer lifting treatments
- IV drip therapy (vitamin infusions)
- Fat reduction injections
These treatments are non-surgical and minimally invasive solutions designed to enhance natural beauty of the face.
The Aura Bangkok Clinic Experience
It is best to book an appointment via their website before heading down to the clinic. Doctor consultation is actually free so you can take advantage of this free service to consult the doctor on what sort of treatments would suit you better. More importantly, it is best to find a doctor who understands your skin condition and goals well. If you have not tried any of the aesthetic treatments before, it is best to arrange for a consultation first.
But if you already know what treatment you have in mind, you can book an appointment and indicate the treatments you are interested in. And if you have any prior queries, you can reach out to them via WeChat, Line or Instagram.
After making an appointment with them, I booked my flight tickets to Bangkok. On the day itself, I took a train down to the clinic. Their English-speaking staff was really welcoming and they served me a bottle of bubble milk tea with some water. The bubble milk tea tasted not bad but I actually wish that would serve a healthier alternative like juice or herbal tea.

Next, the staff handed me a personal particulars form to fill up. I had no issues communicating with their staff in English. Most of them can converse in both Thai and English. I noticed that one of the staff at this outlet was able to communicate in Mandarin and was able to attend to a Chinese-speaking customer.

After that, they took some ‘before treatment’ photos of my face. They also took my blood pressure. Apparently, this is a standard safety procedure designed to detect hidden risks and prevent serious complications before any aesthetic treatments.

Then the staff came over to explain the treatments which I have requested for. I have a low-pain threshold and I did not want to do something too invasive so I decided to try their face lifting treatments (OglioX and Ultraformer MPT) to help me achieve a youthful look. I like the fact that their website provided detailed information of both treatments. So it is good to check out their website and learn more about each treatment and the differences between each treatment.
The staff briefly shared with me about the procedure and what to expect during the treatment. They recommended that I go with 600 shots for Ultraformer MPT treatment – 200 shots on each cheek and another 200 shot at the under chin area to address my double chin issue. For OglioX treatment, I went with 300 shots – 150 shots on each cheek.
After finalising the target area and number of shots, the staff asked me if I would like to apply numbing cream. For these 2 treatments, numbing cream is not needed as it isn’t too painful. But I am so glad that I asked for numbing cream because I had a low threshold for pain. If you have a low pain tolerance level, I highly recommend you to apply the numbing cream as well.

They are transparent with the prices for each treatment and you can refer to their website for the prices or message them to ask for the full price list.
They ushered me to this waiting room where there are several comfy armchairs for patients to sit down. This is also where they do the IV drop for patients.

They applied a thick layer of numbing cream on my face. I waited for 30 mins there for the numbing cream to take effect and another 30 mins for my turn to see the doctor for the treatment. It was a long wait as the clinic was quite busy during the Songkran holiday.

The doctor introduced herself and proceeded to confirm with me the treatments, shots and the target areas. She told me that my left cheek is a little saggier than the right cheek so she would try to administer shots to the specific spots on my face to make it look more symmetrical.
Do note that such intensive aesthetic treatments must be performed by certified doctors.
Ultraformer MPT

Ultraformer MPT is an advanced skin lifting and tightening treatment that uses Macro & Micro Focused Ultrasound energy to firm sagging skin, contour the jawline and stimulate collagen production.
This literally feels like ant bites and stings on deeper layers of your skin. I could feel the energy beams snapping right into my dermis layer. There’s some discomfort for me even with the numbing cream but the pain is tolerable. It’s a pain level of 4/10 with numbing cream.
OligioX

OligioX is the latest RF-powered skin-tightening technology designed to sculpt the face for a more youthful v-shaped look.
This treatment is slightly more tolerable than Ultraformer MPT. You will feel a gush of heat followed by a cooling effect which help soothes the skin almost instantly. Like the Ultraformer MPT, the energy beams target the deeper skin layers.
After the Treatment
My skin felt significantly tighter after the treatment. The lifting effect wasn’t that apparent yet because it will take a couple more weeks to take effect. But all I can say is that these 2 technologies are pretty intensive because both target the deeper skin tissue layers. The results for such treatments would be more pronounced as compared to treatments that only targets the outer skin layer.
Immediately after the treatment, the staff took an ‘after’ treatment photos and wipe off the exccess cooling gel. She then ushered me out of the clinic.
I actually wish that they have taken some time to cleanse the skin and add some moisturiser to my skin. That added cleansing step would have a nice finishing touch to the whole treatment experience at the clinic.
My Verdict of Aura Bangkok Clinic

So is it worth travelling down to Bangkok for aesthetic treatments? Are they cheaper in Bangkok than in Singapore? As for the pricing matters, it is best to compare the prices by asking the clinics directly because prices do fluctuate from time to time.
I personally feel that it is probably only worth considering doing a few treatments here at one go. Then travelling all the way to Bangkok for treatments might be more worthwhile. It is also important to do your own research and check out the more established clinics like Aura Bangkok Clinic for your beauty treatments.
