If you’ve been struggling with excess oil, clogged pores and skin that looks dull by the end of the day, Tatcha‘s latest Matcha Glow Ritual is designed with exactly those concerns in mind.
Inspired by the centuries-old Japanese tea ceremony, the new ritual combines three products that work together to purify, strengthen and hydrate the skin without feeling heavy. While matcha has long been celebrated for its antioxidant properties, Tatcha takes it a step further by combining traditional Japanese botanicals with modern skincare science to create a routine that is particularly suitable for humid climates like Singapore.
Matcha Glow Ritual (3-step)
Unlike many skincare launches that focus on a single “hero” product, the Matcha Glow Ritual is designed as a complete routine. Every step complements the next, from cleansing to treatment and hydration.
This collection consists of:
- The Matcha Foam Cleanse
- The Longevity Serum
- The Water Cream
Together, they target some of Southeast Asia’s most common skincare concerns like excess sebum, enlarged pores, congestio, dullness and dehydration caused by air-conditioning and humidity.
The Matcha Foam Cleanse
This is their new product which is infused with Japanese Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Kyoto. Unlike traditional foaming cleansers that can leave skin feeling tight, this cleanser starts as a refreshing gel before transforming into an incredibly fine, cloud-like foam when mixed with water—reminiscent of freshly whisked ceremonial matcha. It has a light tea scent.
Its key ingredients include Japanese Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Kyoto, Prebiotic Inulin and Green Clay. Together, these ingredients help remove excess oil, unclog pores and support a healthy skin microbiome without disrupting the skin barrier.
The Longevity Serum
The Longevity Serum is powered by Tatcha’s proprietary Okinawa Cellescence Complex. The serum feels silky and lightweight, absorbing quickly without leaving any sticky residue. My skin is actually loving this lightweight serum as it absorbs readily into the skin. It layers well beneath moisturiser and sunscreen, making it suitable for both morning and evening routines.
The Water Cream
Tatcha’s iconic Water Cream remains one of the brand’s bestselling moisturisers—and for good reason. Designed specifically for combination to oily skin, the oil-free gel cream bursts into water upon application, delivering instant hydration without heaviness. It also helps refine the appearance of pores while maintaining a smooth, balanced complexion.
This is arguably one of the lightest moisturisers available in the market. It disappears almost instantly into the skin while leaving behind a soft, velvety finish rather than a greasy one. This had to be one of my favourite moisturisers thus far. If you dislike thick moisturisers but still want lasting hydration, this remains one of Tatcha’s strongest products.
Final Verdict
The Tatcha Matcha Glow Ritual successfully combines Japanese beauty traditions with modern skincare science to create a routine that’s especially well-suited for humid climates. While it sits firmly in the luxury skincare category, the formulas feel thoughtfully developed, with elegant textures and a focus on maintaining long-term skin health rather than relying on harsh ingredients or quick fixes.
If you’re looking for a skincare routine that delivers a deep yet gentle cleanse, lightweight hydration and a more balanced complexion without overwhelming the skin, the Matcha Glow Ritual is a compelling addition to Tatcha’s lineup.
