Just before we usher in 2019, I met up with my favourite pals whom we have met since college. Eunice’s birthday was way over but we decided to have a get together to celebrate her 30th anyway.
Platform 1094
This time, I brought them to Platform 1094 along Serangoon Road. I was amazed that they did not know about this Whimsical Harry Potter-like cafe which took Singapore by storm a couple of years back ago.
Why 1094? It is because the unit address of this cafe is 1094 Serangoon Road.
This is one of those themed cafes in Singapore where you can stunning Instagram photos. The food not only looks good but tastes good as well. That explains why the cafe is still packed on a Saturday mid-afternoon.
Over here, you can dress up like one of the characters in Harry Potter Movie with the Harry Potter cloaks, scarves and props. You can get creative with the props (like Round-shape glasses, owls, magic wands) and costumes provided.
The Harry Potter-themed Food
We had this hot chocolate that comes with a crooked spoon made like a Witch’s potion spoon.
The hot chocolate was really good! What ‘portion’ did they add into it?
That slap of yellow angelic wings floating on the hot chocolate is actually made up of marshmallow.
Hocus Pocus! Stir this Mushroom soup in the cauldron with your long breadstick as you mumble those magical words.
All of us had our lunch prior to this celebration so we order their popular Truffle fries. They stuffed a lot of the golden fries into the bucket. It was all good.
Book of Spell Cake
We picked this Book of Spell cake for Eunice. Just in case you are wondering, they do provide birthday candles. But theirs are really long and skinny like the one shown above.
Guess what’s in the book of spell?
It’s just chocolate brownie. It is moist and very chocolatey.
Our favourite part of the celebration is dressing up!
Do we look like we’ve just graduated from Hogwarts?
Vanessa and Eunice have been good friends of mine for the past … 13 years and counting! We’ve met each other in Junior College since Day 1 and have been friends ever since.
