Today, I got to be a Hello Kitty engineer where I get to accessorize the Robot Kitty right here at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 403. Tomorrow, this highly interactive event will be opened to the public from 11 June till 21 June 2016.
Yuko Yamaguchi, the designer of Hello Kitty, will also be gracing the Robot Kitty Singapore event on 20 June where she will be holding two autograph sessions at 1 pm and 4 pm on that day itself. I am not too sure how the hype is like for Hello Kitty but to me, it’s still so appealing and attractive.
Once you enter the exhibit, there will be a presenter to explain to you how it works. You can choose to purchase either the admission tickets with the gaming card or tickets with the Robot K. Robot K is an optional gaming device figurine where you can gain points through the games and exchange the points for accessories to decorate your Robot K!
With Robot K, you can, of course, play the games to win points. At the end of the game, you can bring back your own Robot K with accessories on. Robot K is sold exclusively to Robot Kitty Singapore ticket holders only. However, if you purchase the game card, you can only play games. For me, I had the gaming card to try out the games for fun.
There were a lot of photo attractions in the exhibit too.
Here’s where you get your Robot K or game card.
Once you have activated your gaming card, you are ready to play the games! There are 5 game stations in total.
STATION 1: FIND THE MISSING PARTS ON HELLO KITTY
(Component department)
Robot Kitty has some missing components and she needs you to find the parts. She will inform which 2 parts she’s lacking and then you have to manoeuvre the controls cut off the joints to retrieve the missing parts.
Difficulty level : 6/10
STATION 2: GEARING UP ROBOT KITTY
(Design Department)
You have to steer the control in order for the accessories to fit in perfectly on Robot K’s body. The idea is simple but it is difficult to handle the control. One degree tilt in the controls makes a lot of difference. But here’s one trick, though! After you pass the first round, don’t move the controls because the accessories are more or less in that position. Just stay still and you will get that perfect fit!
Difficulty level: 8/10
STATION 3: QUALITY CHECK OF ROBOT K
( Q.C Department)
This game is pretty fun. You just need to wave your hands about across all the 4 Robot Kitties to do a quality check. If one of them is defective, it will appear as the odd one out. To remove it, you will need to hit the button as fast as you can to pass the round. It’s pretty easy to play this too.

STATION 4: KEEP INJURED ROBOT K ALIVE!
(Repair Department)
Robot K is injured and she needs help!
She is lying on the hospital bed and you will need to repair the parts.
There are two handles for you to hold it and basically you will need to shake it to recharge the handles then charge the parts on Robot K where it is lighted up.
You got to be fast with this one!

STATION 5: LEVEL UP!
(Energy Department)
This station allows you to get the most number of points and it’s super simple.
You will just need to hit the two buttons as many times as possible within a stipulated of time. Then, there will be a jackpot round where you hit the button randomly to earn bonus points.
Next, proceed to the checkout station to find out how many points you accumulated and the total time you took to complete all the games.
I completed mine in less than half an hour.
For those with Robot K, you can redeem the points for accessories and decorate your own Robot K to be brought home!
I heard the black Robot K is a sell-out toy. I wonder why. I still prefer white Robot K.
There’s also a merchandise store that sells everything Hello Kitty and some other Sanrio characters.
The concept is quite cool actually but it would be more fun if there were more stations to play with! Robot Kitty Singapore admission tickets and Robot K are on sale at all ticketing partners and also available online.
