Your Daily Dose of Lipton

No, this entry is not about the famous Lipton tea brand. It is about a Get-to-know-you survey used  during an American TV talk show, Inside the Actors Studio, hosted by James Lipton.

This was actually my first tutorial assignment for our management and organisation class in university and I find this unconventional surveys interesting, intriguing and amusing at the same time.

It really serves as a fun ice-breakers to get people to share and discuss about what drives them forward in life. The concept of this survey follows closely to the Proust Questionnaire ( an inquiry about one’s personality ). He would interview celebrities with a list of 10 questions and the first question is … 

( So, one day when my name appears in Bollywood, Hollywood, Dollywood and all other woods and forests in this world, this is how I am going to tackle these questions while sitting on the swivel chair with the dazzling flashlights shooting in my direction.)

The Lipton Conversation  

1. What is your favorite word?   

Singing. There is so much buzz and excitement to this word.  

2.  What is your least favorite word?

Money.

The wise men preached that money is not everything and that money can break you or tear your life apart. It’s an obvious lie.

They are paid to say that. Money breeds evil and greediness. Getting a big fat bank account is never one of my goals in life.  

3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Stepping foot on a strange and foreign land.

I absolutely love the feeling of being somewhere totally new and different. It feels like I am entering a Kaleidoscope.  

4. What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Sleeping.Except when I am dreaming.  

5. What is your favorite curse word? 

I try to avoid cursing, you know …  

6. What sound or noise do you love? 

When there is absolute silence… 

7. What sound or noise do you hate?

Alarm Clock.

8.What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? 

Baker.

Wouldn’t it be nice to experiment baking bread and cakes everyday?

9. What profession would you not like to do?

President. With great power comes great responsibility. The heavy burden is going to crush my shoulder blades.  

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?  

” You are entitled to live once more on Earth. Return to mother Earth!
