#Soul Talk: The Battle is The Lord’s

I entered a new realm of joy on 3 Jan when I finally decided to open my doors and receive God’s love. I’ve never felt so peaceful and excited as I listened to Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermon at New Creation Church. Finally, I had answers to all my doubts and uncertainties when he slowly unpacks the meaning of the bible verses and expounded God’s intention so succinctly. I felt everything was right then – no longer feeling lost and uncertain. My life wasn’t that bad but somehow I knew that I felt empty within but today, I felt uplifted. Finally, I see the glimpse of light – the light of hope and happiness crowns by God’s love.

It wasn’t easy. I backslided twice. And I thought I wasn’t ever going back to God after going though that trial. Sadness and distrust engulfed me completely and I decided to cast my gaze on something else. Why need God? I am strong and I can live on my own. But somehow, there’s this turmoil inside me that surfaced from time to time. Life goes on smoothly but I am slowly losing that sparkle in my eyes. Thank God. Today, I felt alive again. Like there’s this new surge of energy that rushes through my body.

I went back to New Creation Church at Star Vista for their second service of the year 2016 to listen to Pastor’s sermon theme on Possessing your possessions. It could be nicely sum up with one sentence, ‘ The battle is the Lord’s’. Find your rest, leave it to God.

“Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” – 2 Chronicles 20:15
